U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., apparently persuaded Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to add a provision to force construction businesses of five or more employees to provide insurance coverage or face hefty fines.

Illegals get their coverage.
You are all free now
And the destruction of private enterprise speeds up.
I am sure that there are plenty of illegals in NM to fill the construction jobs and the employers will not have to pay for health insurance. They will be hired off the rolls. Business as usual.
Many small construction firms will most likely now not keep more than 5 permanent employees, all the additional ones will get casual labor wages.
And there will be a 50 employee limit on bigger outfits as well.
This will create a substantial hiring “change” in the construction industry.
They’re doing it on purpose.
The No Illegal Alien Construction Worker Left Behind Act of 2009.
Welcome to “The Brave New World”.
Subcontract.
“When in the course of human events......”
Tom Jefferson’s words ring out loudly once again.
And the remedy is the same.
Yes they are. I think I am moving back to the Kona Coast for the duration. They are already Socialist and all possible damage is already done.
They will have no employees. Everyone will become a subcontractor.
INTERESTING ... no one knew, and no 'rat or media cared what's in the body of the bill before they voted on it.
Let's see what other little presents are inside it.
Everybody gets coverage NOW. Just go to the health department for free dr’s visits, free prescriptions, free immunizations. This sucks. I own a construction firm, all my empolyees are on payroll with W/C and none of them want health insurance because they don’t need it. Just another screw over by the government. Union Workers with cushy jobs and benefits get special exclusions and construction all ready screwed over by this economy gets it shoved up its butt.
Gee, it’s just such a sad crying shame the Senators didn’t have time to read, study and analyze the bill before they voted for it.
These clowns don't even know what the hell they are voting on! How's that for representation!
I own a small business and many of my customers are travelers from all over the country. People I’ve talked to are ENRAGED about this! The pot is getting ready to boil over.
This would be the final nail in the coffin of the housing, building, contracting, construction trades, suppliers, real estate markets, banking, and all other associated trades right down to the catering trucks and fuel suppliers.
These guys are such idiots. Don’t they realize that is a marxist takeover, they will be among the first to get the axe? Have they learned NOTHING from recent history?
