Schwarzenegger turns to Congress for health care relief

HE ASKS CONGRESS FOR BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, LAW RELAXATION

- As the U.S. Senate finalized its health care proposal, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger asked Congress on Tuesday to add billions of dollars for California and relax existing laws, warning that the state otherwise may have to slash Medi-Cal benefits or eliminate its in-home care program.

The Republican governor connected the long-term health care plan to California's current budget deficit, estimated to be $20.7 billion by the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst's Office. He suggested in a letter to Congress that the health care plan would lock in current federal reimbursement and eligibility policies that he believes have contributed to California's budget woes.

Schwarzenegger asked for a federal rule change that would allow the state to cut the number of Medi-Cal recipients and save $500 million. Because of federal stimulus rules, California is now required to provide Medi-Cal benefits to parents who earn up to 106 percent of the federal poverty level – roughly $19,408 for a family of three. The federal health care plan under debate also would require California to maintain benefits at that level beyond 2010.

The governor asked Congress to allow California to reduce that figure to as low as 70 percent of the federal poverty level – or provide the state with additional money.

"For health care reform to succeed, Congress must first and foremost give states the flexibility to meet our current obligations within the revenues available to states," Schwarzenegger wrote.

Yup, cut medical recipients. Don’t touch welfare, foodstamps, low-cost housing, illegal aliens, or other subsidies.

Perhaps you could turn off some more irrigation pumps when you get a chance.

Perhaps it WAS a “tumah”.

Report: Bill would reduce senior care Medicare cuts approved by House may affect access to providers

Lori Montgomery

Washington Post Staff Writer
Sunday, November 15, 2009

A plan to slash more than $500 billion from future Medicare spending -- one of the biggest sources of funding for President Obama's proposed overhaul of the nation's health-care system -- would sharply reduce benefits for some senior citizens and could jeopardize access to care for millions of others, according to a government evaluation released Saturday.

The report, requested by House Republicans, found that Medicare cuts contained in the health package approved by the House on Nov. 7 are likely to prove so costly to hospitals and nursing homes that they could stop taking Medicare altogether.

AND if you are Retired Military on Tri Care for Life, which many Millions are, you are in for a nearly $5,000 NEW fee along with the increased premiums for the REDUCED Medicare benefits.

bill would Introduce NEW nearly $5,000 fee to TRL

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

Why doesn’t the idiot Schwarzenegger ask Congress to deport the many millions of illegal aliens who are bankrupting California?

Oh I forgot. Arnold is part of the Dubya/Rove compassion wing of the GOP, and they prefer to sacrifice their own country rather than enforce the law. Sucking up to the Fastest Growing Minority is a major part of their political strategery. And those illegal aliens and the thousands who continue to sneak in daily are their cousins.

Well maybe Odumbo will solve the problem by doing what Dubya repeatedly tried to do, and that’s legalize all 20 or 30 million of them, whatever the number is. I mean who cares? Obviously no one does because both parties do the same and we let them get away with it. Viva Mexifornia. Learn Spanish, you’ll need it when you wait in line at your Obamacare clinic.

This type of thing is the crux of the CBO report that say the federal deficit won't go up. This "health destruction plan" pushes more unfunded mandates onto the states and forces them to raise taxes.

Why state legislatures aren't up in arms about this is beyond me.

Depends on what type of math they used...Old School, Government School or Berny Madoff math.

Now now now.

That explains a lot why Arhnee, the Girly Man, stabbed fellow Republican Palin at the back.

He wanted to prove his loyalty to Obama and in so doing, he would ask for a BailOut from the Feds. California’s highly socialist Medi-Cal DeathCare is bankrupt due to Arhnee’s ignorance in Economics. Just like Obama.

Arhnee’s incompetence as a Governor and his lack of integrity and principles are SO APPALLING AND DISGUTING.

Arhnee, GET LOST!

Aw geez, where does Arnold think these Federal subsidies COME from, the Magic land of Money Trees? They come from us - Calif. taxpayers, and from other states’ taxpayers. And, everyone’s broke!

CA businesses which (wisely) took flight out of California to other states STILL can’t escape bailing out CA’s greedy Public Unions, a.k.a. “The Democrats’ Purse.”

Outrageous. McClintock’s got to be cringing at this news. Gov. Schwarzenneger needs to man up, and face down the protectionist cartels.

And don't forget the RATS in Sacramento that have a huge part in destroying Kalifornia. And their environmentalists that have destroyed much of our manufacturing base.

Start drilling, freeze all state hiring, reduce ALL state salaries by 15% and stop all funding of illegals. That would be a smart start for CA but the CalComs have other plans.

But, but, but - wait! Hold your horses! I’m sure Obama has been saying this bill would save everyone money! I’m positive he said that last night as a matter of fact. Didn’t you hear him say that, Arnie? I did, and you’re the governor of a big state, so I expect you should have heard that too.

Also, I’m pretty sure you yourself have doing a bit of cheer leading for this bill as well. But now it sounds like you think this bill isn’t such a hot idea after all. So, my advice to you is to give your two U.S. senators a jingle, tell them you’ve changed your mind, and urge them to vote against this bill you now think will harm California so badly.

This is the reason he has been sucking up to Obama lately. Saying he deserves an A etc.

Arnold needs to be recalled.
