Well there would be less money being spent in Michigan and more people and votes would move out of Michigan.Ya but we need these taxpayers...I can't support Detroit all by myself...

Ford better be careful. The Unions have big, powerful friends.

I bought a Nissan truck made in Mississippi with mostly parts made in the USA. The absolute best truck I have ever owned.
What'd you have before that, Datsun, Subaru???

"Seeing as their owned in large part by the UAW I wouldn't hold my breath for that to happen."Well, what the union doesn't own the government does, and we all know that government does not shed employees. They may "discontinue" a department or program with a wink and move the employees elsewhere, but they never simply reduce employees.
To: NVDave
The UAW put Toyota where they are.
To: Sub-Driver
I will gladly have FORD at the top of my buying list if they get rid of all the union workers.
Screw the unions, and screw Government Motors...they are part of the death knell of liberty in the 21st century.
To: Sub-Driver
Ford ought to do a lockout rather than a buyout.

Ya but we need these taxpayers...I can't support Detroit all by myself... Well maybe Detroit could be hit just enough so there votes don't drown out the conservative votes in the rest of state and then they could vote out the liberal wasteful spending and taxing you folks into the dark ages, and turn the state into a right to work state but I think that is going to take a long time in Michigan.

The US Postal Service offered early retirement this year. The buyouts were only $15000, but they had about 30000 takers nationwide. We’ve gone from 700,000 employees to about 575,000 in 3 years through attrition and early retirement, and still lost 1.9b last FY. More cuts to come - management cuts are in the pipeline now.
