I would like to believe this, but....
I have this sinking feeling that Pelosi, despite howls from the moonbats, will accept the Senate bill as is. IOW, the "conference committee" will simply change the House bill to match the Senate bill exactly.
Do I understand this right? If that happens doesn't it mean that the Senate doesn't have to do anything further at all? The "new" version gets voted on by the House, and then straight to 0's desk?

Actually the bill does not even have to go to a "confrence committee". All the Senate needs to do is send the bill as they voted on it to the House for them to approve, this is called a "ping" If the House accepts and votes for the Senate bill then game over. If the House makes a few changes to get the bill to pass then they "pong" the bill back to the Senate. If the Senate accepts the "ponged" bill then game over.
This is called "Ping-Pong" as you might guess. It rarely goes further than the first "ping-pong" althought it can. If this manuver fails it would have to go to committee.

Various talking heads, including senators, reps and Axelrod have already stated today that there will be a conference.
Labor is upset with the tax on Cadillac plans. Left is upset about no public option.
There will be a conf, so please keep calling, raising Hell, and telling your friends and family - an entirely corrupt and evil process and a legislative monstrosity.
