Sen. Ben Nelson (Neb.), the final Democratic holdout on health care, was prepared to announce to his caucus Saturday morning that he would support the Senate reform bill, clearing the way for final passage by Christmas.
"We're there," said Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), as he headed into a special meeting to announce the deal.

The direction the Nation is headed, you may not get a chance to choose whom you vote for, or against, again.
If the Democrats pass this bill, and I believe that they will, they will have completed the coup they began on November 4, 2008. Without firing a shot.
This should be a lesson, especially for the people of ND, SD, Montana, Nebraska . . .NEVER EVER ELECT ANOTHER DEMOCRAT
Also underpay until the end of the year, if that is an option. It's time to bring these bastards down to their knees.
We should never underestimate the ability of money to bribe our so called “representatives”.
And let’s not forget that we are in this position thanks to the majority of Americans putting us in this extremely dangerous position. Last November hen I saw Obama with a majority congress I knew we were in BIG BIG trouble.
The will of We the People past election day means nothing to these people....and even election day is now corrupt with ACORN, dumbed down electorate (thanks to the NEA), trash entertainment, the ACLU’s removal of religion. The bastards have done their job well.
This bill will be a death sentence for most of us ..... eventually. The government will tell my doctor what they can and cannot do - based on cost to the state. This is a horror show.
Where’s the bill?
What did you expect from a Democrat? An effin Profile In Courage????
This is all on the dems...they can suck it. The 16% increase is $5 net out of my pocket per week, so thats what $260 a year...compound that with higher state and federal taxes plus cap and trade plus whatever else the commies have to throw at us......stay strong America...Sarah is coming!
The sad part of it is that they likely will not be reelected but if anyone thinks for one minute that our supposed friendly newly elected GOP will in any way shape or form attempt to repeal this monstrosity is a fool. The more I see the more I know Griffin is right, that both sides are collectivists. Yes there are a few good GOP in congress but not nearly enough. It really does break down to collectivism VS individualism and look at them all, just look at them.
I’m sure it’s cold enough in NE to freeze a well-digger’s butt right now, but I surely wish a huge crowd would gather outside Nelson’s main office this afternoon and let their voices be heard.
What a sad day when a state like Nebraska can be bought.
There’s a lot of whining going on in FR-Land this morning. Did no one know Nelson is a man whore?
My only guess is, he was offered “something” very comfortable, probably by slippers Emanuel.
They can still be ignorant about the bleakness of their future. They do think like kids, after all.
...those good ‘ol boys were drinking whiskey and rye sayin “this will be the day that we die...this will be the day that we die”!
Yeah, well. Ignorance is no fun. They're going to be growing up a little sooner than they probably would of liked. That's not the way I would have wanted it, but hey, nobody asked for my input, i.e. tough beans.
These bastards should be forced to buy this or be penalized just like the rest of us. Why aren’t the Republicans shouting this from the rooftops?
The democrats will run on the Mean Republicans taking away your free health Care, who do you think will win?
they all like Lady GaGa too! I’ll take a Ronald Reagan and a John Wayne over zero and lady gaga any day, every day!!!
It should also be a lesson for those on the Right, many of whom are here at FR, who either stayed home or voted for fringe candidates such as their beloved “Fred” or Duncan Hunter, for example.
And based upon who you are.
