Sen. Ben Nelson to announce support for health-care bill

Sen. Ben Nelson (Neb.), the final Democratic holdout on health care, was prepared to announce to his caucus Saturday morning that he would support the Senate reform bill, clearing the way for final passage by Christmas.

"We're there," said Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), as he headed into a special meeting to announce the deal.

Democratic leaders spent days trying to hammer out a deal with Nelson, and worked late Friday night with Nelson on abortion coverage language that had proved the major stumbling block. But Nelson also secured other favors for his home state.

Asked if he was prepared to support the bill, Nelson said, "Yeah."

Every remotely vulnerable Senator with a (D) after his/her name is going down hard on election day, whether it's 2010 or 2012

I wish that were true. They're going to legalize all immigrants to vote for them in 2010, they have ACORN fraud in place all over the country, and their Secretary of State project is playing out nicely. They've taken over the United States of America without firing a single shot.

Sen. Ben Nelson to announce his receipt of 30 pieces of silver.

Now if he'd just go hang himself the story would be complete.

The blizzard taking place will mean most people are not out shopping in stores over the next few days but rather, are home watching tv and ordering online. The healthcare votes will not go unnoticed like they hope for.

Now justifying his position, about selling abortion under the bus, knowing full well they will be stripped out in conference.

Now kissing Reid’s ass as leader.

Believes this legislation will stand the test of time and be a milestone of the 21st Century.

Says lives of millions be improved and saved thanks to Reid’s leadership.

Now telling everyone to go jump in a lake that doesn’t agree.

Says news and extremists on both sides falsely claiming that this legislation will harm Americans.

Says if there are MATERIAL changes in conference, he reserves the right to vote against the reworked bill. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

There are no words for a quisling SOB like this man, and for ALL the Democrats.

We owe the Founding Fathers a profound apology for allowing this group of leaders in DC to lead the America they sacrificed everything to found.

We should be proactive. This has got to go to the supreme court to overturn the legislation. It’s not constitutional. It’s time we paid those guys off like the ACLU has and get in the game.

So when this is reconciled with the House bill, will it only need 51 votes in the Senate?

You really think the Supreme Court would do their job? They have dodging and weaving for years over the constitutionality of stealing a government. They usually say it is OK.

It was obvious all along he was looking for a deal. But it’s a pyrrhic victory. First, because the Dems are committing political suicide with this. And second, because it will be challenged in the Supreme Court.

It will be debated again in the senate and need cloture vote to proceed to general vote.
