Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Wednesday withdrew his single-payer healthcare amendment after Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) initiated a procedural maneuver to shipwreck the measure.
Coburn earlier in the day forced the Senate clerk to read aloud Sanderss 767-page amendment to the Senate healthcare bill in an effort to halt the healthcare debate.

Jim Demint/SC & Tom Coburn/OK both demanded the reading of Bernie Sanders(socialist) 767 page bill. Sanders is withdrawing the amendment to keep it from being read! Per Rush Limbaugh's & Hannity's show, plans to read the main bill are in the works. (MUCH RESISTANCE). It's not over but these Republicans are standing FIRM. HOUSE is adjourning today (per Hannity). If you should want to thank these Senators for their outstanding efforts: Tom Coburn http://coburn.senate.gov & Jim Demint http://demint.senate.gov Both Senators said THEY ARE NOT LEAVING EVEN IF IT MEANS WORKING THROUGH CHRISTMAS!

Every bill that Congress considers should be read aloud. Thanks to Sen. Coburn for insisting the Senate actually do its job.

Every bill should be read and then posted online for 7 days before they vote.

To defeat the left, expose the left.
They only succeed through deception and obfuscation.
When the public knows what they are doing, the public opposes what they are doing.
They know this.

Both Senators said THEY ARE NOT LEAVING EVEN IF IT MEANS WORKING THROUGH CHRISTMAS! We should admire their dedication. Though soldiers spending Christmas in lookout posts in the Afghan mountains may seem less than impressed with their sacrifice.

Thank you for providing the links. I’ve already sent my emails in. THEY WERE ADAMANT about this tactic and of course, the communists are livid. TOUGH. If we can hold this off until after Christmas......we can storm their offices or perhaps even their homes.

NRO is reporting that GOP leadership is furious that the Senate parliamentarian allowed Sanders to pull the amendment and stop the reading... claim it violates standing Senate rules.
Getting very interesting.

Coburn earlier in the day forced the Senate clerk to read aloud Sanderss 767-page amendment to the Senate healthcare bill
The Senate Rules state that the Clerk must read the entire bill aloud and that the reading aloud CAN NOT BE INTERRUPTED for any reason. Withdrawing the Bill can not stop the Bill from being read aloud once the reading has started. The reading aloud of the Bill had already started. The GOP must insist that the Bill be fully read aloud by the Clerk irrespective of whether the Bill has been withdrawn or not. Those are the Senate rules and the rules can not be changed for this session. Harry Reid can not change the rules simply because he wants to hurry things along.

Thanks, OW. I am getting a bunch of gobbledy-gook when I click on them and don’t understand why. Maybe my computer is just too tired tonight.

That may be but the article from the Hill says:
Sanders's decision to withdraw the amendment will stop the reading and allow debate to continue.
