Not to get too conspiracy minded, but isn't it odd that in the middle of his portion of the argument...

... the viewers were informed that Svensmark has a pacemaker, and it went on because his heart rate had slowed down.

Bluntly: One might wonder if a Black-Ops style Electro-Magnetic attack may have been the real trigger for the device taking him out...at such a convenient moment.
