“pray for each other” doesn’t supercede 6;6 where Jesus says pray in private. You can pray in private for each other. But i guess it’s better if you show how pious you are in front of everyone. I have no real problem with it except that a whole lot of people claim to follow the scripture to the letter.

They both are correct. One doesn't supercede the other. There is a time for fellowship w/the Lord, devotion - one on one. One scripture he was referring to the Pharisee types - who wanted to appear holy but were anything but - they wanted recognition and they got it 'here' but will not be rewarded afterwards. He was showing them their hypocrisy. And we are commanded to pray for one another - while that can be in the closet.

Also, we are to pray without ceasing. Does that mean you stay in the closet all day?

What about Matt 18:20 'For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.'
