I am not a religious guy, but I am a broken-glass Republican. For 10 years before I lost my job I was a more-than-a-dollar-a-day Freeper. Where do I stand now? Not welcome?

Has your message changed?

In this climate the GOP has caused me to wonder what is a broken glass Republican. What do we believe to get elected?

I think he’s saying that FR is a 1776 site: “Endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights...”

Significant because the rights given by the Creator cannot be taken away by anyone but the One who gave them.

If our rights to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness don’t come from the Creator, then who/what do they come from?

Actually ?
I am anti-Religion myself,
that is ?
Religion is mans's way to God,
but, JESUS CHRIST is GOD's way to GOD....

If you have ever studied the bible, the Jewish " RELIGIOUS " leaders came to him and asked him why did he hang out with such lowly, wretched , sinners, and Jesus basically told them,

That he came not for the righteous:

( self righteous ) ... ( righteous... that is ? Jesus said in a sarcastic way, THE SELF RIGHTIOUS ):

I did not come, but came for sinners.
The sick are the one's who need the doctor.
The one's who gave Jesus the most trouble and headaches was the religious leaders.
In the bible, Jesus didn't hang out or fellowship with the religious leaders ( Only Nicodemus ) but with the people and sinners...
You are more than welcome here at FR and more than welcome to hang out with Jesus.

RELIGION: is a man made thing, a man made way .. in that ? that man thinks he can come to GOD, or be right in God's eyes by man's way of thinking and doing.

Jesus Christ : is a relationship with GOD, GOD's only way to GOD.....

I am a religious guy (Catholic, though a skeptical one), but I keep it to myself. I get uncomfortable with Christians that seem to want to exclude non-Christians or non-believers just because they are such. I went through a time when I was an atheist but I never gave up the ideas of Republicanism, meaning we have rights that transcend gov’t. The Founders said “Creator”, not “Christian God”. You could believe you were created by Gaia or whatever and still know that your Fundamental Rights exist.
