Besides, if you truly believe it is your calling as a Christian to change the hearts of non-believers you would be better served with a civil dialog than with a stick.

What difference does that make? My Christianity is not subject to or conditional upon the tenants of other faiths. Early Judaism accepted slavery and polygamy, I don't. Baal practiced human and child sacrifice, I don't. The Sola Scriptura tenant of Calvinism rejects the continuing role of the Holy Spirit, I don't. Some Christian's think it acceptable to be un-Christian like to non-Christians, I don't.
