I am scientifically educated, studying Physics and math during my school years (in the Jurassic Era of the late 50s)

I am also a Christian who thinks “evolution” has been scientifically demonstrated. I believe it makes perfect sense that God used this mechanism, and that there is also evidence that perhaps He did not employ it exclusively.

Evolutionary processes are very imperfectly understood, but there is ample evidence to make adaptive evolution beyond theory, and within the realm of observable fact within many species. How it might work to create entirely new species is much less well understood and still in the realm of theory, IMO.

The climate changes. I think that certain types of man-made pollution are harmful to humans, but have never been demonstrated to have anything to do with climate or climate change, which at this stage in our scientific knowledge is VERY imperfectly understood.

I do not believe in AGW, or indeed in AGC. However since the climate does change cyclically, we ought to know more about how the process is driven. It surely would be helpful to know more about where we are in the natural cycles that govern the physical planet!

However, the present Global Warming movement is an unscientific hoax designed to empower world government and to lower living standards to an arbitrary lowest common denominator.

I promote what I consider a sane energy policy using Nuclear Power, ALL available hydrocarbons, and geothermal or hydroelectric generation wherever possible. Physics tells me that wind power is minimally feasible, and solar power only marginally more so, both on an extremely limited basis. I also have seen well developed evidence that hydrocarbons and increasing nuclear capacity will be the broadest basis of the world’s energy for the next 100 years, at least, and that there is NO shortage of these resources. "Alternative energy sources" are a very long way from economic reality.

I agree with Einstein when he tells us that "....real science is to know God." To consider reliable, substantiated evidence cannot harm faith.

No! You tried to dismiss me with a ridiculous proposition aimed right in my face, not over my head. You aim was bad, however. So, now I’ll turn the other cheek while you reload!!! (grin)

Fringe???

How many members do we have now????

If we are indeed “Fringe” then America is doomed.

“Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being assembled to meet him ... Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come, unless the rebellion [in the original greek: apostasy - ‘great falling away’] comes first, and the lawless [one] is revealed, the son of perdition...” 2 Thess 2:1,3

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils...” 1Timothy 4:1

"Christian basic leaning, sure!
But surely not fundamentalist!"

Fundamentalist is basic Christian! - All else is "add-on."

Don't worry, all real Christians love their Jewish brothers and sisters!

But evolution and science are mutually exclusive!

Since you are either too young to know any better, or just (insert disparaging adjective here) to know better, I’ll explain the obvious:

The term Fundamentalist came from those series of books that were written. It was originally an insult by those who rejected those volumes, but was gladly received by those who knew those volumes correctly descried what the Bible taught.

For you to lose that thought, or to never have it, is just a sign of the times, I guess. Because until that term was created to describe Bible believing Christian Protestants and Baptists, that term did not exist.

That means the term is entirely restricted by it’s original definition to mean only Fundamentalist Christians, and excludes Roman Catholics, Liberal Christian denominations and any other religion, period.

The term was used once again starting around the 1960’s or 70’s to be applied to Muslims or psychos because of the lack of knowlege of the person who wielded the word and they had no ther means to describe the intensity of belief of the persons or group they were describing.

The word Fundamentalist does NOT apply to any religion other than Christianity, and it does not include psychos who bomb abortion clinics or multiple wives or (insert disparaging comment here). To do so is to totally misunderstand the term and it’s origin and meaning. And if you think FR is Fundamentalist, then you dont know much about Fundamentalism. Go to the link and start reading the book. You’ll learn something.

I consider myself pro-American and Pro-individual liberties pro-Capitalism...anti-marxist....how that parallels what ‘they’ say about what FR is all about, I neither endorse, nor shy away from...

it is what it is....

"Fringe", heh. These liberals are so in denial of true American-loving PATRIOTS and love bashing religious believers with their elitist crap, when almost 80% of this country identifies itself as "Christian"! (source)

Methinks there's going to be some VERY surprised liberals the day after the 2010 and 2012 elections!
