High-skilled immigration to be addressed in Schumer-Graham bill (RINO alert)
The Hill, Washington, DC ^ | 2009-12-10

A report released this week by the Center for American Progress (CAP) includes recommendations that could serve as a blue-print of sorts for a broad immigration reform bill being crafted by Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee Immigration subcommittee, and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC).

An overhaul of the U.S. immigration laws has for years been a high priority for technology companies that say they need more H-1B visas and green-cards to hire high-skilled workers and keep the industry competitive on a global scale. Microsoft founder Bill Gates and others make yearly pilgrimages to Washington to make their cases for lifting the visa caps. The topic came up at least a dozen times in last week’s job summit at the White House.

RHINO’S ARE THE WEAK LINK AND MUST GO! These rats need to be beaten mercifully where it would take decades to recover.

For conservatives, a political surge NEW PACS AND FUNDRAISING 'It's time to take control

(The energized "tea party" movement, which upended this year's political debate with noisy anti-government protests, is preparing to shake up the 2010 elections by channeling money and supporters to conservative candidates set to challenge both Democrats and Republicans.)

There are videos of lawyers in highly compromising situations explaining (for a fee, of course) how to get around hiring standards so you can claim no American wants the job and bring in outside help. 25 pieces of silver is the fee, I believe.

America’s economy and thus we need the highly skilled workers such as engineers, scientists, programmers and other professional level immigrants. The Economist magazine had an article last year about how letting such professionals immigrate results in far more jobs for Americans in America because those people create innovations and thus jobs for us.

Oh sure, it would be better for America to provide enough scientists, engineers, and programmers but our liberal-run schools and universities have not been graduating enough of such professionals. Yes, it is a shame that America’s liberal schools can not educate enough people in math, science and other fields for them to then go on to engineering and science degrees and jobs in research and production in America.

I’m fine with high-skilled workers & enforcement of borders. But, it seems ludicrous that the only way congress will enact things that should be a given is by bribing us into allowing amnesty & chain migration from the poorest regions of the world. Get real- the only reason the Democrat party support it is because they can import a new poorer group to vote for them loyally for at least a generation. Its crass & dishonest. Immigration & the debate concerning should lift hearts & spirits. By & large immigrants are good people. I blame our government for the problems we are seeing. Unfortunately, given the debate & current approach we have ended up with bad policy, personal attacks on peoples character & 10-20 million illegals. Let’s deport congress! :)

McCain and Graham-nesty have this little Punchie and Judy show. This year McCain pretends he is a conservative while the little SC sissy pushes all this crap. I cannot stand both of them. They are worse than Collins and Snowe.

We do not need any type of “professional immigrants”. There is over 10% unemployment in the USA, and we have plenty of talented and capable people who are out of work.

If Bill Gates and other Economic Anti-Americans refuse to hire Americans, let them take their business out of the country. We should not enact laws to merely enrich certain businesses, at the expense of most Americans. If your business cannot survive by hiring Americans, you should go out of business....no more Business Soicalism....

No surprise Schumer and the Soros-buttboy Lindsey Graham would be behind this piece of Economic Anti-Anericanism and outright Treason. Sadly, you will find many RINOs who will support such Treason

This is as big a myth as Global Warming....and like Global Warming....more Globalist BS

We have plenty of Americans trained in engineering and other specialized fields...they all have lost their jobs in America over the past few years. Instead of hiring less-skilled lower-paid foreigners....we can rebuild our economy by hiring the skilled Americans we already have.

We do not need an H1B visa program, or any special visa program. Over ten percent of Americans are out of work...there are plenty of Americans to hire.

Also, The Economist is a bed-wetting liberal publication.
