GOP Leads Dems Among Likely Voters in Generic Ballot (42-38)

Republicans lead Democrats in a test of generic congressional matchups, a new poll found Thursday.

42 percent of likely voters said they would prefer a generic Republican candidate for Congress versus 38 percent who said they would prefer a generic Democrat, according to a Bloomberg News poll released Thursday.

16 percent said they were unsure who they'd support, while four percent were unsure.

The poll comes on the same day as a CNN/Opinion Research found that Americans are split over which party they trust more to run the legislative process, marking a slight skid for Democrats and a slight uptick for the GOP.

40 percent of Americans said the U.S. would be better under Democratic control of Congress, while 39 percent said it would be better off under Republican control, according to a new CNN/Opinion Research poll.

“38% of the country is in favor of prosecuting Navy Seals for giving terrorists a bloody lip”

Do that 38% even KNOW about that? America doesn’t exactly have a free & open flow of information any more. This ain’t 1980.

I don't think those numbers will change appreciably over the next year. In fact, I think they will worsen with time.

I see the rest of the MSM polling outfits are finally catching up with the Gold Standard in polling, Mr Scott Rasmussen himself.
Rasmussen has had the Republicans ahead in the generic congressional polling for months, even as the MSM "polling" kept denying it.
The funny thing is the rest of the media always keep denying any bad polling news for 0bama and the Dimwits until it gets close to the elections, when they have no alternative but to face reality if they don't want to lose face for peddling fraudulent pols, after the real voting results come out.
So what is new?

Take all polls showing weak Democrat support with a grain of salt.

No poll can measure potential vote fraud. No one polls the dead who still vote early and often on election day in every big city in the country. Who's polling illegal aliens? How can Loretta Sanchez' "Virtual Voter Families" be tabulated?

I agree. Most people don’t read Free Republic or even listen to talk radio. Most people just lead their lives and want to be left alone. Sometimes I feel I’m living on a different planet from most of my friends who are all really conservative, because even THEY don’t know 1/10 of what I’ve read about. It’s hard to know what the numbers would be if every American knew all the stuff we read here on FR
