Polish lawmakers defend crucifixes in schools
(AP) 9 hours ago
WARSAW, Poland Polish lawmakers have approved a resolution defending the predominantly Roman Catholic nation's right to hang crucifixes in public schools.
Lawmakers wanted to voice opposition to a decision by the European Court of Human Rights, which ruled last month against the display of crucifixes in Italian schools.
That ruling does not require that Poland remove the crosses that hang in most public schools, but Polish lawmakers fear it could force an eventual review of the use of religious symbols in government-run school across Europe.

Boy, the left has really unleashed a firestorm with P.C.
When I talk to my lefty friends its as if they were in the grip of witch burning fever.
Who could possibly object to crucifixes in Polish classrooms? Who could or would object to a crucifix anywhere.
European Court of Human Rights ....another word for P.C. Gestapo! Removing crucifixes from Italian classrooms? Isn’t Italy a predominantly Roman Catholic country?
The Italians are fighting it - good for them.
I love the Poles.
For some reason, the first time I read the headline, I saw it as: “Polish lawmakers defend CRUCIFICTIONS in schools”.
Needless to say, I was relieved to see that I had mis-read it.
The result of the voting is significant.
357 of the MPs voted for the resolution, only 40 opposed it.
50% Polish and 100% American.
I really love the Polish.
??% Polish and 100% American.
