The Indian Air Force (IAF) has grounded its entire fleet of Sukhoi fighter jets after one crashed during a routine training exercise in Rajasthan state.
>
Monday's crash was the second such incident involving a Sukhoi fighter jet this year.

This is considered to be the most advanced fighter in the world adside from the F-22.
Not good. This aircraft is a SU-20 varient in development since the 70’s and it still has issues. LOL
Yah buy trash, yah get get trash.
More used parts showing up in Russian new plane sales?
You probably had a good chuckle the last time an F-22 was lost.
That is a heck of a way to twist a comment around.
Anyone seen sukhoi-30mki? What are his thoughts on this?
He'll probably drop in.
Too early to say what the cause(s) of the crash is. While there were reports years ago of engine troubles, the SU-30 has had a pretty good record in the Indian air force ever since it entered service in 1997. The fleet however has been grounded for inspections.
Has India contacted Sukhoi/Russia on this matter?
Does Sukhoi have any investigative teams on site or inbound to help determine the problem(s)?
The Russian did set up domestic facilities in India for the SU-30 a few years back, so they do have personnel in the country. I believe the fighter that crashed was an Indian built variant.
Understood, thanks.
It reminds me of the usual posts on FR whenever a foreign fighter (e.g. the Rafale) is on a thread, whereby by the third or fourth post someone will say how it has the RCS the size of a barn (or something along those lines) ...not considering that the Rafale has a very small RCS (not stealth, but discrete), while a US plane like the F-15 Eagle has a greater RCS than the B-52 bomber! Yet, anytime you see a thread about a Gripen, Typhoon, Rafale etc you'll always see those silly comments, yet a thread on the block-60 F-16 or the F-15E is weirdly silent ...!
Anyways, back on topic ...a 'LOL' is out of place for a nation which will be arguably our greatest ally (next to Australia, and to a lesser extent Japan) in the region against a rising China. Furthermore, unless no SuperHornets and Vipers (and even Raptors) are crashing, it is a spot hypocritical.
Ok, my comment had nothing to do with India.
I just think that as long as this aircraft has been in development and as much tech as the Russians STOLE and continue to steal, that is somewhat laughable that they are still having issues with it.
Yes we have problems with our aircraft as well, but we didn’t steal the technology to design and build them. I suppose I should have been more clear. I wouldn’t want to offend anyone and I realize we are fast becoming the nation of the offended.
Bump
As for the stolen technology, pray do tell exactly what technology in the SU 30 MKI was stolen by the Russians? Specifically, or is it one of those 'I heard' stories? We are talking about the SU 30 MKI specifically, since that is the plane that crashed. To make it easier for you, use any SU 30, or for that matter, go back to even the first production SU 27 and its prototypes. Knock yourself out ....just remember to check dates. Also, what about the aspects of the plane developed by the Israelis, the Indians and the French? I'm curious what exactly was stolen.... since you put that in ALL CAPS you must be knowing. Right? Should I bother holding my breath for a cogent answer?
Also, I’m not American so the whole nation of the offended doesn’t apply. I welcome the feeling of getting offended, if in the process I learn something, develop myself, or get edified in some way or form. Thus, no offense taken.
