Conservatives will rant and rave about how dishonest Obama is, but are going to walk lockstep when he claims he is going to win the war and destroy Al Quada.”

Let the democrats be hypocrits. If Mr. Obama will properly allow General McCrystal to prosecute this war...I will most definitely “mute” my critism. I don’t want Mr. Obama and POTUS, but as long as I don’t see direct evidence of him hurting the military....I salute smartly, shut up, and help get the job done. I’m still not going to vote for in the next election.....but I’m putting the welfare of soldiers ahead of politics.

You haven't seen any direct evidence of Obama hurting the military?

And putting SEALS on trial is what?

Yes, the claim of 'putting the welfare of the soldiers ahead of politics' will be the mantra over the next two years, by conservatives who don't have the courage to attack no win wars.

The bottom line is that we cannot just leave Afganistan. If it falls back into Taliban hands they will be emboddened and continue to harras Pakistan where there are nuclear weapons to seize. We cannot allow Pakistan to fall into Taliban or any other Islamic extremist’s hands.

'We cannot let this happen and we cannot allow that to happen', well, Obama's actions aren't going to stop either and you know that very well as does Palin.

So, we fight for control of Afghanistan.....even if the current POTUS is not the person that should be POTUS.

Adding 30,000 troops isn't fighting for control of anything.

But you keep your rose colored glasses on.

On this particuliar issue, I want Mr. Obama to succeed to stopping the Taliban. Like I said, I will not put politics ahead of military lives and national security.

Obama has already put politics ahead of national security, but Republicans will get in line with him and let him get away with it.

“Yes, the claim of ‘putting the welfare of the soldiers ahead of politics’ will be the mantra over the next two years, by conservatives who don’t have the courage to attack no win wars.”

Listen Beetle Bailey, I don’t take guff from an arm chair generals wannabee - and don’t question my courage. I’m still a serving commissioned officer in the Army Reserve and work for the Army as a civilian. My knowledge of the current battlefield is limited, but I am most certain it is better than yours. I’m surrounded by active duty soldiers that have just returned from the Afghanistan front and I speak with them constantly at length. You don’t know squat about what you talk about and need to put a cork in it.

General McCrystal is an honorable man and has a very sound course of action for Afghanistan. From what I see thus far, POTUS Obama is giving him most of what he needs; NO general ever gets entirely what he wants. While President Obama is not my choice for CiC...the fact remains he is. My oath to the constitution does not allow me to dictate to my superiors how they are going to run the war. It would indeed be a violation of trust the country has placed in me to keep faith with my superiors and the political leaders WE MUST remain subordinate to. YOU DO NOT want a junta....they are wrong. Like I told you, and get it through your thick skull, it is NOT my place to bad mouth a general or POTUS when acting as an officer. For that matter even when functioning as a civilian. My officer’s commission, although reserve, runs 24/7.

You are coming close to inciting insurrection....that is treason.....it is NEVER right in our system of government. You need to stop it right now....you will hurt our troops in the field. STOP putting your politics ahead of your patrotism. You need to develop a little faith that things WILL ultimately work out. However, attempting to destroy a POTUS (even one you don’t like) when he is actually doing something in the right directiion...is counterproductive.

Regarding the Navy Seals. I wasn’t there and don’t know what happened...neither do you. I will tell you this...Seals and other Special OPS types are the elite of the Armed Forces. They have NO right to express personal anger in regards to a prisoner anymore than a policeman does. If they lack that professionalism that calls for a higher standard of demeanor, they don’t belong as Seals or Special OPS. You have been watching too many Arnold Schwartzenegger or Bruce Willis movies. In the real world that crap doesn’t fly. Once it does, you no longer have a military force, you have a rabble with weapons. The discipline of the service has to be upheld. While I sympathize with these Seals, I also realized that IF they are found guilty in a proper military court...then they must face the consequences. The military carries out what civil authority directs.....change that and you have a rabble with weapons and not an army. That kind of poor discipline spreads like a cancer and will destroy a military force’s ability to wage effective war.

Do I like the Rules of Engagement placed upon our troops in Afghanistan...NO or course not. However, once again, I may express my displeasure through the chain of command, but if I act unilaterally to disregard them...I AM just a criminal wearing a uniform. A military must be disciplined and follow orders as directed. It isn’t always pleasant...but war is never pleasant.

“But you keep your rose colored glasses on.”

BTW Beetle Bailey - I am acutely aware of the seriousness of the situation and DO NOT see the world as rainbows and unicorns. In the military we use what we are given. President Obama’s actions aren’t as much as I, or General McCrystal would desire, but they are a step in the right direction.

I would suggest to you that you obtain some glasses, but it seems apparent to me that you are a blind fool...so blinded by partisan hate that you would endanger the country just to hasten the downfall of a POTUS. That makes you very, very bad. If you were under my command and I found out you were spreading such dissention...I’d courts-martial you in a heartbeat. Not because I approve of the current POTUS, but because you seriously have broke the rules of military deportment.

Obama has already put politics ahead of national security,

All Milk Chocolate has done is organize, 'cause he CAN'T lead. He organized a 'solution' to his dilema- add some troops but couple it with the Left's cookie: a pull-out timeframe.

Sarah, OTOH, can lead, has led, and by now,(were she our CIC), would have run circles around this phony by restoring confidence in the markets who, by the way, are the only ones with the ability to end this recession/depression. And, she could do it with little Trig in one arm.

America did not elect a leader- it elected an 'organizer'. Please let this sink into your head. From now on, you'll begin to recognize the organizer vs the leader in almost everything he touches or reads from his telepromter.

No need to thank me now, thank me later.
