Three months ago, I joined a number of Americans in urging President Obama to provide the resources necessary to achieve our goals in Afghanistan. Tonight, I am glad he mostly heeded that advice........

Look in the dictionary. It tells you what victory means. If you are too ignorant to know what victory means, I am afraid I cant help ya. He didn't ask for the meaning of victory, he asked for what victory would be in Afghanistan.
A very reasonable question.

I repeat again, what is victory in Afghanistan, there is childish victory like, we won the foot ball game, now what is victory in Afghanistan. What set of events happen to have a pronouncement of victory in Afghanistan. You would think that this would have a simple answer!
Why all the resistance in answering it?

Really there was no good response to this idiot/Communist/Muslim in the White House. Yes, there is, the TRUTH.
Tell him that his 'policy' is a non-policy that will result in nothing but defeat.
This is how LBJ dragged us into Vietnam.

“

The word “victory” does not change meanings just because we are in Afghanistan.
Look it up sometime will ya?

You do know that no criticism of St.Palin is allowed on FR?

So victory over Germany and Japan in WW2 was the same as victory over Germany in WW1 or over the British in the American Revolution?
No politican ever defines what victory means anymore, since they have no intention of obtaining it.

“
So victory over Germany and Japan in WW2 was the same as victory over Germany in WW1 or over the British in the American Revolution” Nice try.
You seem to forget that after we fought and won the conventional war in Japan and Germany in WW II, our troops were then subjected to guerrilla warfare and what we would call terrorist attacks for years in those 2 countries, before we finally pacified those countries.
In fact, things got so bad, that the New York Times, at one time was calling for our troops to be pulled out of Germany, because according to them, the Germans were simply not genetically made to practice Democracy. Same things were said about the Japanese too.
Its funny when we look back at those statements today isn't it?
There is no easy way out anywhere.
You either finish the job, or it comes back to bite you in the butt.
You wanna try again?

“Reagan would never have ever resigned being Governor. “
Now how the hack do you now that?
To: fortheDeclaration
Now how the heck do you now that?

“
You do know that no criticism of St.Palin is allowed on FR?” Playing the victim again are we?
If criticism of Sarah Palin is now allowed, how come you are still posting here, when all you do all day is criticize and attack Sarah Palin like a paid troll?
And how can you even complain when you are challenged after attacking Sarah Palan, when you yourself are doing most of the attacking?
You can't attack, then turn round and whine when you are attacked right back.

To all those who think she's "off base" and "not critical of Obama", please note the last paragraph.
Talk of an exit date also risks sending the wrong message. We should be in Afghanistan to win, not to set a timetable for withdrawal that signals a lack of resolve to our friends, and lets our enemies believe they can wait us out.
She has always said we should listen to our Generals and fight to win. To oppose the troop surge would be a non-sequitur. She approves of THIS part.
However she hardly hides her criticism of Obama's defeatist talk.

Should read:
“If criticism of Sarah Palin is not allowed, “

Finally a comment I can agree with.....You folks have to read Madame President's comment deeper and pay more attention to what she actually says, and not act like Daily Kos fools.......
We need the surge, we got part of it, you have to acknowledge facts when they present themselves, or your criticisms are not valid.

She said exactly what a Statesman had to say... and she set the pieces in place to eviscerate the kenyan marxist when he tries to cut and run or ties our Military up with defeatist ROE’s. This was Churchillian.

Its got to be something along the lines of insuring that Afghanistan is never again used as a base for launching attacks against, or trying to destabilize, us or our allies Impossible.
Man can't insure that Germany or Canada or the house next door can never again be used as a base for launching attacks against us. It can't be done at any price. Even if we turn it into a crater and fill it with brine, it can still be used against us.

Why all of the fuss? She knows and we know that its half-hearted at best. But we take what we can get, and even she doubted that mentioning an exit strategy was a good idea (of which there have been very few).
If this is based upon the needs of the military leadership in order to achieve mission objectives and win, it beats having done nothing.
