Three months ago, I joined a number of Americans in urging President Obama to provide the resources necessary to achieve our goals in Afghanistan. Tonight, I am glad he mostly heeded that advice........
You can’t slam someone for doing what you ask them to do. I think she did a great job here. If Obama drops the ball, as he will, Sarah can jump on him and have the credibility of having been objective. If Sarah never takes the highroad then she is just going to come off as a bitter person and you can not win hearts and minds by being bitter.
One more time....She just set him up, boxed him in, good strategy....think about it!
She knows and we know that he is going to cut and run, but he is playing it as though that he wants to win it, so she uses his wanting to ‘win it all’ against him!!
Does she support his strategy or not? The 30,000 troops AND the timetable are part of the strategy. She sounds like she wants it both ways and that’s not Sarah-like at all.
“As long as were in to win, and as long as troop level decisions are based on conditions on the ground and the advice of our military commanders, I support President Obamas decision. “ Sarah Palin
Gold. Platinum.
“As long as:
1. we’re in it to win.” - Objective, Objective, Objective. The support is conditional. Be there TO WIN, not do a few things then cut and run.
2. “troop level decisions are based on conditions on the ground and the advice of our military commanders”....
They can’t come to her and say that she didn’t support the president. She did. BUt she qualified it with 2 VERY important qualifications.
1. Go all out. Win. Don’t play games.
2. Don’t meddle, listen to the commanders.
Excellent statement.
Your right. Down the road when Obama is proven to be a total failure on this issue, she can come back and say “Well, I was being objective and I gave him a chance but he blew it”
You see everything through a straw.
Again, Sarah is playing chess while those who don’t get it
are playing checkers or stil looking for the board.
“Your right. Down the road when Obama is proven to be a total failure on this issue, she can come back and say Well, I was being objective and I gave him a chance but he blew it
BINGO!!
I subscribe to her Facebook page. I’ve read it many times. I don’t agree with her approach on this one - it’s too pragmatic and she sounds like a politician. Not a good mix for her.
I agree with you entirely. Being pragmatic opens her up to criticism from the “conservatives” though. Many people will not define themselves as Republicans anymore because of the RINO’s in the Republican Party, but I am beginning to see that Many of the RINO’s are professing to be conservatives. I am a free thinker, and I am not throwing Sarah under the bus for supporting a troop surge in Afghanistan. There will be plenty of time for her to criticize Obama when he drops the ball by implementing absurd rules of engagement, or maintaining absurd rules of engagement.
I can’t stomach going to the DU, someone should go there just for kicks and read their reactions to this. NOTHING worse in the mind of a lib then having Sarah Palin “Praising” Obama..If this was Sarah’s intention, this is truly a brilliant move on her part

Sarah just twittered this..her book signing must have just ended..and guess what..she praises border control agents :-)

New Mexico was great!Met many fine Americans there- hardworking/patriotic- incl many Border Patrol Agents who make us proud;Thx 4 great work
I meant to say border PATROL agents..typing too fast
I saw some of your earlier post on other threads.
You tend to come across as being a supporter but
then snark through the side door.
Disingenuous on your part
me either, Barracuda. I saw the nicknames they were giving obama on the DUmmie FUnnies (a safe and sanitary way to view their comments)! I would love to see what they are saying since Sarah’s FB comments, but it will have to be a braver soul than I to go there....
Yeah, I can stomach a lot but I can’t stomach going there. My stomach has been hurting me the last two days, I really can’t go there, plus going to that hell hole of a site would make my eyes hurt LOL
“We should be clear, however, that fewer troops mean assuming more risk. Talk of an exit date also risks sending the wrong message.”
According to Palin, Obama is putting the troops at more risk and sending the wrong message to our enemies. She should have come down hard on Obama for not taking McCrystal’s recommendation of 60,000 troops and setting a timetable. She went too easy on him. Conservatives consistently bashed liberals for wanting timetables in Iraq. We should be equally adamant about having no timetables in Afghanistan.

Caught the president’s speech excerpts re Afghanistan, pls see FaceBook page for comments. As stated before, “If We’re in it, Let’s Win it”
