Maybe Obama will say the lone cop who took this animal down “acted stupidly.”

Kudos to the lone officer who bagged this vermin.

This Officer referred Clemmons to a Higher Court, out of the reach of our politicians.

You'd think the mentality of almost everyone would be "good, he's gone".

But if you go to the article's link posted up top and view the reader comments you'd know otherwise. Some of those people are out there.

Dang.

They’re b!tching about him getting shot in the back?

Looks like what goes around, comes around. He showed less regard for human life with his rap sheet and rape and murder.

It just came back and bit him.

Bleeding hearts make me want to puke.

I wonder what their records look like. Probably his jail buddies.

Yes, it matters.

There were several years, several arrests, and several incarcerations between those events.

True, Huckabee let him out of a long sentence, but he didn’t parole (or release) him at the time, nor has he been involved in the subsequent years’ worth of arrests of this criminal.

I’m not saying Huckabee had NO contribution, but he is a link in a long chain of events. He just happens to be the biggest fish in the barrel.

Those who would blame him solely, are looking for any reason to blame him.

There are a lot of discussions here about Huckabee and his responsibility. Some of them are technical and some emotional. I believe that whatever tact, explanation, or position that is taken or provided Huckabee’s piolitical career is over. Liberal, Conservative, Rino or whatever. Voters do not always pay attention to the detail and he is toast.

"We know here in Washington we didn't do anything wrong," Troyer said. "We've arrested him multiple times."

Prosecutors also filed a separate charge on July 2 — this one accusing Clemmons of being a fugitive from Arkansas. They cited the chain of events involving the alleged assault on the deputies as evidence that Clemmons had violated his parole in Arkansas. If sent back, he faced the prospect of being returned to prison for years. But July 22, the Arkansas Department of Community Correction notified Pierce County, by letter, that Arkansas had no interest in taking Clemmons back. "Arkansas is releasing its hold on the offender and will not extradite at this time," the letter said. "The subject has pending charges in the state of Washington and appropriate action will be taken once the charges have been adjudicated." Arkansas rescinded its warrant. Had Arkansas not done so, Clemmons would have been held without bail on the alleged parole violation. Stephen Penner, a deputy prosecuting attorney in Pierce County, said he sees Arkansas' decision to leave Clemmons to Washington this way: "There's a built-in incentive to not following through. In a way, the more violent they are, the less you want them in your community." Lindquist, Pierce County's chief prosecutor, was asked Monday if he believes Arkansas dumped Clemmons on Washington. Only Arkansas can answer that question, Lindquist said, but he added: "You could draw that inference." A spokeswoman for the Arkansas prison system told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that the state issued a second warrant in October that would have allowed Clemmons to be held without bail. Penner said if a second warrant was issued, no one told him.

I won’t agree or disagree with that assessment, because I honestly don’t know.

There are so many who want to call this a “Willie Horton” event, but while I acknowledge Huckabee’s role in the history of this monster, I won’t accept that Huckabee was as negligent as many would have us believe. It’s idiotic to think that Huckabee would knowingly (or negligently) put a monster like that back on the street.

Although, I am still a Huckabee supporter (and would still vote for him), I acknowledge that I am in the minority. The level of venom (mis-)directed at Huckabee is bewildering to me, to the point of elevating my suspicions of ulterior motives.

It’s one thing to not like the guy, it’s another to say he pulled the trigger.

Allegedly gut shot and patched with cotton balls and duct tape ...probably quite painful, let us hope.

Glad he is dead. He needs some company though.

“We know here in Washington we didn’t do anything wrong,” Troyer said. “We’ve arrested him multiple times.” —

Well the cops didn’t do anything wrong. But what about that lousy judge? MC had a HUGE record, hit a cop, other stuff and then in jail accused of raping a child (with enough evidence that he did it to warrant his arrest).

But - oh, scrounge up $15k ($150k bail) and we’ll let you go until the trial. I’m sure you’ll hang around, even though this is your third strike and you’ll be up for life in prison.

I want to see Gregoire linked to this judge and these low standards of justice.

"In a statement that didn't identify Kelly by name, the Seattle police said the officer has prior law enforcement experience and is a military veteran."

Thank you for your service to our country, Officer Kelly.

I'm thankful that the car the criminals chose to steal wasn't reliable, and that it died at an opportune time for Officer Kelly to see it. I'm thankful that Officer Kelly wasn't injured, and that he flawlessly carried out his duty to the citizens.

God bless him, and all who serve. God bless the families, and friends, of those officers who were slain.
