MOST of the world's population will be wiped out if political leaders fail to agree a method of stopping current rates of global warming, one of the UK's most senior climate scientists has warned.
Professor Kevin Anderson, director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change, believes only around 10 per cent of the planet's population – around half a billion people – will survive if global temperatures rise by 4C.
Anderson's warning comes just eight days before global leaders meet in Copenhagen for the most crucial talks on climate change reversal since the Rio summit in 1992. Current Met Office projections reveal that the lack of action in the intervening 17 years – in which emissions of climate changing gases such as carbon dioxide have soared – has set the world on a path towards potential 4C rises as early as 2060, and 6C rises by the end of the century.

I wish global warming was true. They never tell you that a couple of degrees would actually make it better for growing food with a longer growing season and other things, like trees. They don’t tell you about all the cold climates that would be warmer and not using as much gas, electricity, coal, ect. to heat with. Where I live the winter starts about the mid part of Oct. to mid nov. and doesn’t warm up until late april to late may. A couple of years ago we were running our heater at night until late july. I’ve lived here for 11 years, out of those 11 years we’ve had maybe about half those years where we actually had a summer.
No wonder the state of journalism is at such a low ebb when outrageous predictions like this get printed with nary a question about them.

Why are they suddenly so worried about women and children? I thought the world was over populated? These are the very people who support abortion and depopulation. They don’t say a word when the Taliban was suppressing women. They couldn’t go to school, they were killing, beheading, raping and beating them. Oh, and the rest of the Arab world is just as bad. But, do you ever hear these people talk about that? No.

To put it bluntly, in the geologic ages of the earth, we have cycled between an "Snow Ball Earth" to an earth so warm that dinosaurs and other reptiles lived above the polar circles. To my mind, as another poster as speculated here, these are Rah-Rah pro-Copenhagen press releases timed for release now!
