The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department has reported that four police officers have been shot dead in an ambush at the Forza Coffee coffee shop at 11401 on South Steele Street in Lakewood Sunday morning.

Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said investigators are immediately offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the suspect, and that number is expected to grow.

KOMO is back to live coverage, not sure for how long...

Thanks for the info. It looks like they're switching between regular programming and coverage of the shooting, as warranted. I heard them say a press conference was expected later, but I didn't hear a time. Did you?

They are still searching the area for the perp and need to only have the one helicopter in the air.

I'd think the extra eyes would be useful. Maybe have them stay above some altitude, while the police helicopter stays lower.

Ft. Lewis probably has helicopters, and it has lots of land with moderately heavy cover. It's south from the scene, the direction the perp was said to have fled.

I am thinking someone was awfully good with a handgun to take out four of them in uniform and escape so quickly.

Especially considering the police were said to be wearing vests. That means head shots, or possibly hip shots, not main center of body mass shots. Much harder. Although we don't know how close he was to his targets.

“There was a cop execution just a little while ago in the Seattle area.
WTF is going on up there?”

“Diversity!”

The Pacific Northwest is considered to be the MOST “unchurched”
sector of the USA.

I’m NOT saying that has anything to do with this ugly event.
Seeing how Psychiatrist Hasan “went postal” in the middle of the
heart of Texas.

But personally, I wonder if the erosion of religion/morality in the Northwest
has any sort of (even subtle) influence on this case.

Just caught NBC’s “coverage of this story.

NO description of the perp.

None.

How utterly predictable.

Police just announced that the perp may have been shot. At least one officer fired rounds. Police are asking public to be on lookout for a wounded person.

Police said 2 officers had no chance to react. A third officer fought briefly but was killed. The 4th officer fought the perp all the way out the front door and may have wounded him.

Don't quite know what you mean...Some of the major Midwestern cities have some of the highest crime rates in the entire country.

Apparently the cultural diversity and political correctness mass murders in Texas recently didn't register with the media.

With that many witnesses, wonder why a composite has not been released of the suspect?

Murdered soldiers?

Murdered police officers?

Nothing in comparison to keeping the lie of cultural equivalence, and the desirability of “tolerance” alive.

The police spokesman said they are working on it. That was roughly an hour ago.

Perp is a "scruffy" young black male. Not sure what "scruffy" means. Unshaven?

Dead officers are 3 men and 1 woman. Don't know anything else about them.
