The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department has reported that four police officers have been shot dead in an ambush at the Forza Coffee coffee shop at 11401 on South Steele Street in Lakewood Sunday morning.
Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said investigators are immediately offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the suspect, and that number is expected to grow.

The key here is the shooter clearly had the element of surprise, they didn't have a chance.
Walk by their table and popped them, all head shots, all in 3 seconds, point black....
The first two didn't know what hit them, the last two never had time to think or react.
Fact is you can be cocked and locked with 5 loaded weapons...If the shooter is close and has the element of surprise, you're dead in short order...End of story.

On the live stream (King5), ten police vehicles just took off full speed, lights north and they have OPSEC procedures in place on the corners.
Something else is up. They have one guy there in a cruiser (first I heard), maybe he gave up something. Didn’t hear if it was just for questioning or what. Said it was the same person taken into custody, hands on head one hour ago (also seen to show some ID), but was cuffed.

I’d be hunkered down in the back part of my place with at least two toys locked and loaded!!
Not that I presume guilt but it’s amazing how frequently stories get posted on here about crooked or evil cops and then when one or more gets killed, we presume that the person doing it is just out to get cops and not out to get dirty ones involved in the wrong stuff.
That said, because of the murder in Seattle, I wholly understand the reaction that it seems related or similar in motivation.
Maybe I'm over idealistic but considering that the human garbage that shot those police was a serial rapist I would expect 100% support for the police in that case.
What this says to me is that we have a sickening fifth column in our nation of people who are willing to side with violent rapists. Is it 10%, or 12%, or more? Don't know, not sure you can measure it.
For sure I remember there were memorial services for the shooter/rapist in Oakland, and people were wearing T-shirts with his picture on it.
This insurgency is growing. Look at again at my previous postings with about *fifty* different local gang 'sets' in the Tacoma area. All those people are among that 10%. It's not a static situaiton, it is a growing one. As the increaseing deadly violence inflicted on our police demonstrate.
Unfortunate, I’d bet the rent that’s what happened. these people were just surprised, bad guy had the drop and they were just executed, probably within 3 seconds...I’d bet they found all 4 of the LEOs weapons were still holstered.
I understand there are many jobs that are dangerous. The list goes on and on. The contracts soldiers and policemen enter into as recruits provide for their retirement benefits. How ‘bloated’ they are is a matter of perspective. Those vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
What I don’t understand from your post is, if the wood cutters are ‘independent contractors,’ how are they making a salary and receiving benefits? It’s my understanding that ‘independent contractors’ are self-employed. In that case, they’re responsible for their own health insurance, and FICA payments. The upside is that all costs relating to doing business - down to their work boots - are deductible.
PLU is on lockdown. I am still interested in the student population there since the pickup of great interest was only a few blocks away.
I lived in Ohio years ago when a similar incident happened. the perp drew the officers gun and killed him and another(as I recall).
It had crossed my mind that this was a “Henry Bowman”.
Just reported that the lights and sirens are not related to this.
There was just a prank 911 call via report on tv.

Good points, Jack. From the normal, non-race-baiting, non-criminal-filth supporting population, there was 100% support. There is a small, loud and truly hateful minority that sees racism in everything, and ties anything to do with police with the Oscar Grant case. It's sickening. Someone even called in saying it was revenge for Grant's killing, and that he was okay with that. The liberal host let him have it and disconnected the call, then took calls for the next hour denouncing that caller.
This is where Van Jones cut his political teeth, and where a black journalist was murdered in cold blood by criminals affiliated with the now-defunct Your Black Muslim Bakery. Nasty, nasty stuff.

I saw your list - my God. And you're right. We need to get CCW in California. I don't know - what are the stats of open carry versus concealed?
I think the gangs and the weirdo Uhuru-type Super FAR Left black nationalists are usually different sets. Most gangs may be racist in some fundamental way but that’s not their raison d’etre. Those marches (they had them in Philly too back in the day) were usually involving the black nationalists and not (at least not as frequently) the hardcore criminals who were about their money or the life, not politics.
That’s not to say it’s sick that there are these people in this country but I do think there’s a distinction.
I’m sure the shooters knew right where to find them at that time of day. Straight up execution.
And everyone else in the shop was spared. One white male and one black male suspect.
