Romney can bite me. I didn’t like him before and nothing that has happened since has changed my opinion. He is a Huckabee (aka Teh Huckster) that got his laws passed. And now he is scrambling to spin the outcome.

The problem Romney has is the same as with most of the public company CEO types. They are just as prone to anti-free market BS as any leftist. He is a giant va-jaj-jay.

I saw a CSPAN2 segment with the Chick-fil-A founder and current CEO (the founder’s son) and all I could do is wish there were about 10000 more like them.

I’ll search for a thread on that segment and if there isn’t one already up I’ll post it.

FRiend, I share your sentiments more than you can know, but the math has to work.

The Electoral College is not a restaurant menu. You need 270 to win the Presidency. To get them you need to herd together enough voters to win states = 270 electoral votes.

You don’t win without compromising something. That is reality.

The other part of the equation which is actually more important is getting control over Congress, particularly the House, but I’ll take both over the Presidency any day.

Look what happened to Clinton’s agenda after the Republicans took over.

We’re naive to think we’ll reset the clock in one election. We need to win and keep on winning year after year to get where we want to go. To do that it will take RINOs.

Not my preference, but the extant political reality.

For all: this thread is a great mechanism for describing the faults of Mitt Romney if you perceive them. Sticking them into discussions on Cap & Trade, Immigration, and your favorite pie recipe constitute fraud on this site. You make it an indoctrination rather than a discussion.

Cheers!
Jim

Interesting that the only one on thread to mention Myth’s religion was a mittbot, playing the victim card.

Maybe he's been over to the Religion Forum. You obviously haven't.

And I'm not saying that as a Romney supporter, either. Pop on over sometime and watch the jihad. That forum is populated by maniacs.

Don't get over there much yourself do you? I'm a charter member of the "Flying Inmans" and reply on most of the threads and the fact remains that a mitt supporter mentioned religion first on this thread.

PROOF RomneyCARE is a Disaster (and Romney is utterly clueless)

“Small businesses bridle at health insurance hikes (Romneycare strangles Mass. businesses)
Bob Carroll, owner of a Billerica distributor of paint spraying equipment, recently got
some really bad news from Blue Cross-Blue Shield: His company’s health insurance rates are going up 47 percent in January.”

“Republicans warn: Rationing medicine has already begun
But in a joint opinion piece called "Govt.-Run Health Care Isn't the Answer," published
in the online version of The Advocate, a leading homosexual magazine, Sen. Tom
Coburn, R-Okla., and GOProud's Christopher R. Barron warned the homosexual
community that the Ryan White CARE Act has already demonstrated how government-
run health care has introduced rationing and waiting lists and cost the lives of the people under its provisions.”

"Paying the Health Tax in Massachusetts [Romneycare]
Massachusetts requires every resident to have health insurance, and this
year, without informing us directly, the state had changed the rules in a way that made
our bare-bones policy no longer acceptable. Unless we ponied up for a pricier policy we
neither need nor want—or enrolled in a government-sponsored insurance plan—we
would have to pay $1,000 each year to the state.
How did we become outlaws? “

"National Health Preview - The Massachusetts debacle, coming soon to your neighborhood."
It was only a matter of time.
They're trying to manage the huge costs of the subsidized middle-class insurance program that is gradually swallowing the state budget.
The program provides low- or no-cost coverage to about 165,000 residents, or three-fifths of the newly insured, and is budgeted at $880 million for 2010, a 7.3% single-year increase that is likely to be optimistic.
The state's overall costs on health programs have increased by 42% (!) since 2006."

Health care in Massachusetts: a warning for America [Romney brings Mass. to its knees]
The Bay State's mandatory insurance law is raising costs, limiting access, and lowering care.

Three years ago, Massachusetts adopted a plan requiring all residents to purchase health
insurance, with state subsidies for lower-income residents. But rather than creating a
utopia of high-quality affordable healthcare, the result has been the exact opposite –
skyrocketing costs, worsened access, and lower quality care."

"‘Severe’ doc shortage seen hiking wait time
“The shortage is getting more severe”"

“Health costs to rise again.( RomneyCare )
The state’s major health insurers plan to raise premiums by about 10 percent next year,
prompting many employers to reduce benefits and shift additional costs to workers.”

“Nation’s ill-advised to follow Mass. plan [Health plan a failure]
September 17, 2009 The canary is dead.
Massachusetts, the model for the ObamaCare universal insurance plan, is the canary in
the health care coal mine. Yesterday, its obit appeared on the front page of both The Wall

"Bay State Insurance Premiums Highest in Country - Boston Globe August 22, 2009
Massachusetts has the most expensive family health insurance premiums in the country,
according to a new analysis that highlights the state’s challenge in trying to rein in medical costs
40 percent higher than in 2003. Over the same period, premiums nationwide rose an average of 33 percent..."

"National Health Preview - The Massachusetts debacle, coming soon to your neighborhood.
In Massachusetts's latest crisis,
They're trying to manage the huge costs of the subsidized middle-class insurance program that is gradually swallowing the state budget.

The state's overall costs on health programs have increased by 42% (!) since 2006
Mr. Romney should have known better before signing on to this not-so-grand experiment, especially since the state's "free market" reforms that he boasts about have proven to be irrelevant when not fictional.
Only 21,000 people have used the "connector" that was supposed to link individuals to private insurers."

A Very Sick Health Plan; Bay State’s ‘Grand Experiment’ Fails [RomneyCare]
… fiscal troubles aplenty within Repubican Mitt Romney’s brainchild, Massachusetts’ “grand experiment” in “universal” health care."
"Initiated on Mr. Romney’s gubernatorial watch in 2006, this “experiment” has fallen on hard times, and predictably so.

“RomneyCare” is threatening to bankrupt the state.“

I didn't pretend to be shocked. Pointed out a simple fact.

Mitbots play the religious victim card, nothing new or to be shocked by.

I think that's what you fail to see: you are so intend on accusing that other guy of playing the "victim card," that you neglect to see that he is pointing out a simple fact as well. And if you are a regular on the Religion forum . . . well, forget it . . . it does figure.

No way would Romney accept a VP spot under Palin. But it’s a moot point, because there’s no way Palin is going to get the Presidential nomination in 2012. If she really gets her act together and educates herself in a hurry, she *might* have a shot at the VP spot again, and if Romney got the Presidential nomination and offered her the VP spot she’d grab it without hesitation. It would be really funny to watch the reaction of the Romney-is-evil-incarnate/Saint-Sarah-is-our-Savior crowd . . .

Amount spent means nothing, as Romney has a large pool of funds...Romney got 4.5 million votes, Huckabee got 4.1 million votes, McCain 9.8 million votes...

The key is the primaries...in a "3-way race" with Romney, Huckabee and Palin, the more conservative vote could easily split between Huckabee and Palin, giving Romney an edge in the early delegate counts ...magritte
