I was not at all surprised to hear that Rudy Giuliani has lately expressed views that welcome the rising prominence of Sarah Palin in the GOP. Giuliani is the archetype of the politicians who wear the Republican label but staunchly support the pro-abortion agenda. Of course, he imitates the pro-abortion Democrats by using the "pro-choice" label to dress his position in deceptively American garb. The use of that term is one of the most clever rhetorical ploys in the history of American politics. If the slaveholders had thought of it, people like me might still be doing stoop labor for no wages. After all, what could be more American than choice? Isn't that what freedom is all about?
Actually, no; not in the sense of the political liberty the American people have up to now enjoyed. I’m not surprised to find Alan Keyes come down with PDS. He is pretty harsh on anybody who doesn’t spell his name A-l-a-n K-e-y-e-s.
I understand the seriousness and passion in this debate for us on the right and I try to take no offense nor give any.
We are fighting the same battle but we are arguing tactics. Palin drives the left nutz, which I love. I just want to make sure we don't allow our ideals to get undercut by political reality of "state's rights" arguments. Yes, we need to maneuver withing man's laws but our ideals have to be God's laws.
And I'm not totally convinced this is a state's rights issue because of the 5th and 14th amendments (Due process) to the Constitution. Also, we are conferring rights to terrorists (not born here and never did) but not to the unborn (who reside here in their mother's womb).

Palin calls for profiling of moslems on the Hannity show, and you think she is “couching” her words?
The problem originated in the SC, so a simple (at least in concept) reversal of Roe V. Wade solves most of this problem. A pick up of 1 net seat for our side will clinch it. 30 states would outlaw abortion the next day. Another 10 can be picked up with time.
As for Congress, the proof of my opinion is that in all the time since 1973 they've done absolutely nothing in terms of legislation to restrict or outlaw abortion. They don't have the votes or frankly the will to do it. The Republicans will posture about it, but they're afraid of being too pro life, as far as actually getting something done. Do you really have faith that those feckless creeps in congress will do anything? Besides, I think we'd see a "Freedom of Choice Act" from Congress before we ever saw a "Right to Life Act".

I haven't noticed PhiKapMom being hateful. What I have noticed is she works hard to support real conservatives who are actually involved in getting re-elected... People such as OK's Senator Inhofe.

When I pull up your first page of comments and compare them to her posts, I find you to be routinely and agressively name calling and putting down anyone who disagrees with you in the slightest.
PKM has said she will support Palin if Palin is the nominee in 2012. If you knew anything about the manner in which PKM works to support candidates, you'd do well to want PKM as your ally.
Don't lose sight of the elections which will be happening less than a year from now. 2010 is fast approaching and we need hardworking, dedicated people who are willing to get down in the trenches to do the hard work needed to get true conservatives in office. PKM qualifies, do you?

Amen. I think Sarah Palin is great, and hope she continues to do the good things she does. However, she isn’t perfect, as NONE of the potential GOP candidates are. I have seen a scary trend here on FR....Folks have gone from just supporting Sarah to worshipping her. Sounds a great deal like the folks on the left that worship Barack Obama.
Sarah deserves your respect and support...not your worship. Also, she is NOT the only individual with desireable qualities to be the GOP candidate....although IMO she is definitely in the top two that I know of. Of course, before 2008, I knew zip about her.

Everyone and I mean everyone who wants to have a horse in this race cannot seem to be thankful for Sarah Palin. Instead they covertly attack her or overtly belittle her. The results are the same. They besmirch themselves and lose support.

Sarah Palin is not Ronald Reagan and Ronald Reagan was not George Washington. But it doesn’t matter. She’s got common sense. And she’s got that spark that lights the fire in the breasts of the “Uncommon Common Man” and gives them true hope for a brighter future.
Ronald Reagan had it. Sarah Palin has it. I am thankful that she does . . . and all who want to claim their Conservative Roots would do well to act accordingly.

I agree with you, but I would add that the problem Alan Keyes has with Sarah Palin is that she is not Alan Keyes.

Nothing is driving anyone from Palin. Currently the momentum is overwhelmingly in her favor.
In many ways Keyes is one of the brightest public figures in our country. But in this case it could be that his brilliant focus has given way to tunnel vision.
At heart, Palin is clearly pro-life. I think Keyes is distracted by his constitutional expertise. It could very well be that this expertise could be a very useful source of advice to Palin.

Stop slammining Giuliani. If Giuliani runs for senate in NY it would be a GREAT thing. By the way he would have made a MUCH better President than the one we have now.
These people here on FR have me thoroughly confused. There was a thread that alleged that unless we are willing to support Palin, we should be “purged” from the Republican party. Now, we’re told that Palin really isn’t good enough after all and there’s also a thread running about purging RINOs. Everyone wants to control what others think, believe and say.
Why? He's a pro-baby-killing, pro-gay-agenda, anti-constitutionalist leftist. Exposing and "slammining" liberals is pretty much what FR is for.
The Republican Party is a confused mess, and so, unfortunately is much of FReeperdom. That’s what happens when one doesn’t pay due regard to fundamental principles, and gets caught up in solely personality-based politics.
