But the original Forces sweetheart has inspired 13-year-old singer Olivia Aaron to do her bit for Britains troops.
The youngster, who starred in the West End musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, has recorded a charity single for the Army Benevolent Fund.

Also nice to see a little girl singer still presented as a little girl. Not - well, I won’t use the word, but we’ve all seen how they sometimes get presented to us.

I recall listening to an English language version of “Lili Marlene” sung by Vera Lynn. She did a great job tho I still thought the version by the German broad was better.
I recall my Father, a combat veteran of WWII, saying the German song became a favorite of theirs too.

There used to be a lot of old WWII movies on the late night movies on television when I was a girl. I loved the old movies.
One of my favorite Vera Lynn songs was:
White Cliffs of Dover
It can still bring tears to my eyes.
