Take a breath. This is nowhere near “over.” All this vote today does is allow the bill to be debated. There was little doubt that this vote would pass. Big deal. The next vote, probably several weeks from now, is for cloture and it is far from certain that it will pass. If it does, then there will be a vote on the actual Senate bill.
Even then, the House and Senate bills have to be reconciled, and the resulting bill then has to be passed by both houses. This could go well into 2010 before a final vote is taken. There will be several opportunities for whole process to blow up in their socialist faces.
Thanks for helping bring some perspective on tonights vote. People were starting to panic while there is still a political battle to be fought.

Yes, agreed. This and 11/2010 are our near and medium term fights and we must FIGHT tooth and nail, imho, and continue to win hearts and minds of indies. We must be clever, coherent and eloquent.
Continue to repeat to all who you interact with - ‘the Obama recession, the Obama recession’, etc., and also, when people talk about the health care bill, suggest how weird it is that we’re paying now, but it doesn’t kick in til 2012 - ‘did you know that?’ Get people indies and people you know that probably voted for bammy to start reading up on this monster.
Thank you for post #51. Bunch of fricking Eeyores on this thread.

You’re correct, of course. But don’t tell that to all the panicking little boys and girls here on FR. If they realized that there’s another step, they might have to work another month or two. Oh, the intolerable work.
BTW, all you people giving up are crapping on the sacrifices made by your ancestors to give us freedom.
I also note that the good people here in South Carolina are not giving up. Most of the surrender declarations are coming from freepers in democrat states. What does that tell us?
