C-SPAN 2 is carrying the Senate floor debate live this afternoon.
The Democrats control the floor right now. Earlier, Republican Senators Judd Gregg, Kit Bond, Jeff Sessions and David Vitter gave good speeches and dialogues on the budget-busting effects of ObamaCare.
Maria Cantwell is speaking now. Mary Landrieu is excpected to speak shortly.
The cloture vote is scheduled for 8 p.m. EST tonight.
Call the Democratic cloak room...the line is not busy and they are laughing in the background

Thanks...I’ll jump on the link.
All of these democrats talking about so and so from their state who desperately needs this coverage now.
THEN WHY THE HELL DOES THE BILL ONLY START IN 2013???
Oh, that’s just after the November 2012 election you say?
SO YOU TRAITOROUS F****ERS ARE SO CONCERNED WITH THE “REFORM” THAT YOU’RE WILLING TO POSTPONE IT FOR POLITICAL PURPOSES.
I have a question, are these politicians actual communists or do they just not know any better? I’m serious, how do they think?
THANK YOU BOB BENNETT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Signed and Forwarded on!
Mrs. Windflier just brought home a whole case of it. I plan on popping a few tonight, while considering our next option.
“(They don’t mention that most of it is just posturing).”
That is all Lincoln is doing!
We don't need arms. If we simply, peacefully, STOP paying taxes, they will be powerless. And if we haven't the guts to do that, we certainly haven't the guts to commit armed rebellion.
Here's a quote: "Ods bodkins, Martha! Are you mad? I could get KILLED out there!"
Never heard that one, did you? That's because George had the guts to face armies, never mind IRS agents.
Off topic, but you live in LA and don't have a car? I can't imagine how you manage without one there. I never could (ex-Angeleno).
Good on you for heading over to the Million Med March!
I hope not!
I respectfully disagree. Armed rebellion has always been easier than escaping the clutches of the IRS. It’s a principle of debilitation through isolation. If you face the Tax Man alone, you will likely do whatever it takes to avoid going to jail, alone. Whereas, if a people under siege have some banner they can gather around to fight the oppressor, there is solace and multiplied strength in the sheer numbers of the band of brothers (and sisters) so gathered. People can face almost any hardship as long as they do not have to do it alone. That’s why the left tries so hard to discredit Palin and others like her. They fear the unifying power of the flag bearer.
Look! If the Dems get this through it is OVER Period!!!!
You won’t be able to stop it ever you won’t be able to go back to the way it was because once you start the government going in one direction you won’t be able to turn the ship around! The dems take over and that is that! They have already corrupted the election process where it is almost impossible to get a Republican elected in races where it is to close to call. If we win in 2010 it will be our last!!!!!
Then I have days like today where I see Obama's "popularity" has dropped below 50%, 65% of American's think Tax Cuts and less government spending are the way out of this recession depression and my faith in the intelligence of the American people is renewed - even if ever so slightly.
Chin up, we win in the end.
I want so badly to be optimistic like you, usconservative, but I'm really having a hard time over this health care (government control/socialism) monstrosity. The 'RATs are getting just what they want, and we are powerless to stop it.
We vow to "vote 'em out" in 2010 and 2012, but aren't the 'RATs going to try to pass some big amnesty bill next (I've seen FReepers talking about it here... sorry I can't locate a source at the moment). John Fund alluded to this 'RAT amnesty plan briefly this week when he was on one of Sean Hannity's panels. Listening to Fund, I got the feeling that it's a done deal, and the GOP is screwed.
If they flood millions of illegals into the US (even more than are here now), these people will vote 95% democRAT. If that's the case, we're screwed for generations.
Someone tell me this isn't gonna happen...
Who among these are vulnerable?
These are possible wins.
AR - Blanche Lincoln
CO - Michael Bennet
CT - Chris Dodd
DE - Ted Kaufman (retiring)
IN - Evan Bayh
MA - (Ted Kennedys old seat)
NV - Harry Reid
NY - Kirsten Gillibrand
ND - Byron Dorgan
PA - Arlen Specter
LIEberman, Landrieu and Nelson are all voting YES.
Another woman too, whose name escapes me. She was supposedly holding out.
IT’S OVER
