The AP supposedly hired 11 fact-checkers to discredit Ms. Palins memoir (Did Fox News hire 11 to question the very questionable things found in the two Obama memoirs?)
Bloggers post on Palins live interviews minute by minute; few, if any, opponents of Barack Obama do the same.
Every statement she makes is parsed, to prove she is ignorant or parochialthough most of her so-called lapses are the sort of things Biden and Obama are accustomed to committing weekly.
So what?
The list could go on, but two fundamental questions arise:
1) What drives this fear and loathing?
2) How does one, then, assess the Palin phenomenon?
Question one is easy, and we can be systematic in our exegeses:
1. Why does she create hysteria?
i). Feminists are enraged that her can-do, have a Downs Syndrome child in her 40s, shoot-moose persona will be used as a paradigm of a liberated women. She is quite attractive, fertile, and married to a Jack-Armstrong 19th-century man.
Her success as an independent female, who was an up-from-the-bootstraps small-town council member, mayor, state regulator and governor, is antithetical to doctrinaire feminism.....

“What Drives the Fear and Loathing of Sarah Palin?”
The Demonrats live in a rabbit hole and the truth they hear coming from Governor Palin sounds like lies because their brains are installed upside down.

They will only succeed in making themselves look smaller by comparison.
I didn’t think I hit the POST button that many times. Sorry, folks.
Like that bit where she tells her husband about the baby and asks “Why us?” and he answers, “Why not us?” If choice means anything, it means that we must be willing to accept as well as reject burdens. And if we accept a burden we must be willing to carry it to the end. At the end we shall receive a reward that gives us more joy than we can imagine. The cross liberates us.
Well, they will accept women like Elizabeth Dole or Kay Bailey Hutchison. Which tells us a lot about these two women. Neither one projects deep conviction.
I don’ think it’s fear, I think it’s contempt. I think that they honestly believe Palin is the lightweight the media has portrayed her to be. They also felt the same about Ronald Reagan, to their everlasting regret. They turned out to be wrong on Reagan, time will tell if they’re wrong on Palin as well.
JEALOUSY!!
Here's the basis of it all:
2 Cor 2:14-16
14But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. 15For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task?
To the left, SP is the stench of death.
I found the former [raisin farming] harder to do than the latter [Phd in Classical languages], the world of the one rather brutal and existential, of the other sheltered and protected. In other words, I would trust the judgment of someone with Palins background on matters of Iran or Honduras or Putin far more than I would someone of Obamas resume. I would trust my neighbor who farms 180 acres more than I would a chairman of an academic department. I know, I know, there are extreme binaries, but they are reflective of the lack of autonomy and physicality today and the undue emphasis on elite schooling as prerequisites for success. We know now that you can do nothing and still finish as the head of Harvard Law Review, or win a Nobel Prize, but if you miss an antlered moose, or run out of gas in the tundra, or fall overboard on a salmon boat, there is no Norwegian committee or Harvard Law Dean to bail you out.
Another first-rate screed from VDH.
The visceral hatred some have for Palin is due to one reason and one reason alone...
Trig Palin was born with three copies of chromosome 21.
That’a right. If she hid Trigg(?) from the public eye, then the mantra would be that she is “ashamed” and “overprotective” of the little guy, keeping him under wraps for political advantage. I firmly believe that no matter WHAT this woman does now and in the future, she really can NOT win over a certain segment that will be happy only when she is totally, irreversibly shredded. I clearly remember what happened to Quayle. Many people don’t even know who the man IS.
Ah the age old conundrum known as woman. Don't try and figure it out, it will just make your head hurt. I'd rather try my mental faculties with quantum mechanics and string theory than figure out a woman.
Liberal women hate her because she is a living refutation of their entire belief structure: that you advance by simultaneously opposing and imitating men. (Liberal women cannot see that this attitude is inherently conflicted.) Sarah is very successful and exudes happiness. Most liberal women and moderately successful and unhappy. Liberal women also hate her pro-life stance. Finally, liberal women consider her a traitor to women: not a member of their anointed sisterhood.
Liberal men hate Palin either because she's got a bigger pair than they do or because their idea of sophistication is parroting the NYT.
Blacks hate Palin primarily because she is a HUGE threat to their boy king. Also, she's from overwhelmingly white states: Idaho then Alaska.
The welfare class hates her because she is self-made. She has achieved much on her own while they prefer to wallow in their own sense of victimhood and self-pity.
The liberal elites hate her simply because she is not one of them.
Homosexual men hate her because she's an attractive woman.
Homosexual women hate her because she's an attractive woman.
Have I left anyone out?
Well I love her. I would vote for her in a heartbeat. My husband would too.

Because her values matches to that of most Americans.
Plus SP is a woman of Christian faith.
