They already have a good idea what movitivates a sizable number of violent criminals. See this article. The left ignores and buries the problem because it conflicts with their idea of criminal psychology and there is no cure for it. It's also not necessarily caused by a bad upbringing or parenting any more than autism is.

“people are basically good”.

All of their beliefs stem from this basic erroneous assumption.
