How in the world can these people be tried in a civilian court under our current laws?
Somehow I doubt they were Mirandized when they were captured or had an attorney present during questioning and I don’t think this was the speedy trial the constitution requires.
Oh I forgot this administration rewrites the constitution anytime they think it’s prudent....

Our mistake was to declare a war on terror. That makes these guys POWs and they shouldn’t be tried at all, by either a civilian court or a military board. We’re trying to have it both ways and we blew it.
That said, as long as we’re going to try them anyway, why not try each of the five defendants in a separate city? Spreads the cost around and makes any effort to disrupt the trials five times bigger. I suggest Boston, Chicago, Seattle, Portland (Or) and San Francisco.
