The Rationing Commission Meet the unelected body that will dictate future medical decisions.

As usual, the most dangerous parts of ObamaCare aren't receiving the scrutiny they deserveand one of the least examined is a new commission to tell Congress how to control health spending. Democrats are quietly attempting to impose a "global budget" on Medicare, with radical implications for U.S. medicine.
Like most of Europe, the various health bills stipulate that Congress will arbitrarily decide how much to spend on health care for seniors every yearand then invest an unelected board with extraordinary powers to dictate what is covered and how it will be paid for. White House budget director Peter Orszag calls this Medicare commission "critical to our fiscal future" and "one of the most potent reforms."
AP
On that last score, he's right. Prominent health economist Alain Enthoven has likened a global budget to "bombing from 35,000 feet, where you don't see the faces of the people you kill."
As envisioned by the Senate Finance Committee, the commissionall 15 members appointed by the Presidentwould have to meet certain budget targets each year. Starting in 2015, Medicare could not grow more rapidly on a per capita basis than by a measure of inflation. After 2019, it could only grow at the same rate as GDP, plus one percentage point.
The theory is to let technocrats set Medicare payments free from political pressure, as with the military base closing commissions. But that process presented recommendations to Congress for an up-or-down vote. Here, the commission's decisions would go into effect automatically if Congress couldn't agree within six months on different cuts that met the same target...

Listen up, there will be NO death panels ya paranoid conservatives! That supposes myriad committees of people that will decide if indiviguals live or die on a case by case basis where they'd have the power but would have to take indivigual circumstances into consideration. As this article tells it, no namby pamby panels. Nope, just centralize the power into one unelected body that can tighten the financial purse strings if your living costs too much. If you die in the process, so be it.

Liberals have admitted government resources are finite. There simply isn't enough money to go around to give every one the kind of health care they expect. So some treatments simply have to go. And if they are the only ones that can work for you, then good luck. For Washington won't pay for them.

Done in my best Montgomery Burns imitation. We have a group of people that historically have been apathetic and indifferent to government. They can’t vote or if they can, they dont complain. Even if they do vote, they traditionally show up in small numbers. They don’t give real money to lobbyists and politicians. They have the least political power. Excellent(hands steepled)....

I want a healthy liver Smithers so make sure that radical surgery for car crash victims gets no funding and I can get a fresh teen one.

I wish that were all its about. Unfortunately its far far worse. Its about quality of care being directly tied to party and union standing. Ranking party and union members will get the best care your money can buy, we'll get a filthy cot and a veterinarian in a dirty shed if we're lucky.
Ultimately its about the extermination of political oppositition without rounding us up and gunning us down.

Dear Governor Perry,
On March 30, 2009 the Texas House of Representatives passed HCR 50 affirming that the State of Texas claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment.
You have publicly supported this bill, and stated that attorney generals from all over the union could be getting ready to sue the US Government.
We are asking you to take the lead.
We are asking you to order the Texas Attorney General to publicly begin working on a law suit under Article IV, Ninth, and Tenth Amendment of the Constitution.
We are asking you to protect the citizens of Texas that we will not stand for government controlled healthcare in our state.
Under your leadership we can effectively kill the proposal of this administration and allow Texas to be a state free from socialism and collectivism.
Be the voice of reason in the national debate and allow Texans the ability to solve the problems of our state.
Thank you,

Facts about the 10th Amendment:
The Tenth Amendment (Amendment X) of the United States Constitution, which is part of the Bill of Rights, was ratified on December 15, 1791. The Tenth Amendment restates the Constitutions principle of Federalism by providing that powers not granted to the national government nor prohibited to the states are reserved to the states or the people.
HCR 50 HAS PASSED THE HOUSE 99-36!
Affirming that the State of Texas claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the U.S. Constitution, serving notice to the federal government to cease and desist certain mandates, and providing that certain federal legislation be prohibited or repealed.

Feds Have Built Only 32 Miles of 700 Mile Double-Border Fence Originally Mandated by Congress
One reason DHS has been able to do this is an amendment that Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R.-Texas) slipped into an omnibus appropriations bill that Congress passed on December 18, 2007. Hutchisons amendment put a loophole in the fence law that allowed the secretary of Homeland Security not to build the fence Congress had mandated the year before.
