VANITY: What happens to KSM if he is found not guilty?
Vanity | Sunday, November 15, 2009 | rightcoast

Posted on 11/15/2009 6:57:07 AM PST by rightcoast

There is obviously a lot of discussion on FR concerning Obama's decision to try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in a civialian trial in NYC. Most of the comments have centered around the horrible possibility of a new terrorist attack against the court or somewhere nearby.

I want to focus on another item I haven't seen discussed... what would happen to KSM, etc if the verdict is Not Guilty? Do they walk? Are they deported? As cleared, are they free to roam the streets of NYC? I am being deadly serious... If you open this to the civilian legal system, what would literally happen if they are not actually convicted?

If anyone's reaction (on the left OR right) is to scoff or laugh and think, "well of COURSE they will be found guilty", then I ask... what is the point of a civilian trial, if a guilty verdict is 100% guaranteed? If it is NOT guaranteed, even by the slimmest margins, then what in God's name will happen if a not guilty verdict is handed out? This needs to be hammered relentlessly to the Obama administration. I want an answer to this NOW and I will not accept the answer of "justice will be served." I want to know what the hell we are going to do with these terrorists if they are cleared. Just... nothing?

And, by the way, how long before the media starts referring to the them as "alleged terrorists" now that everything is sucked into the civilian legal system?

God help us.

Note - my second sentence ought to have read:

"Yet, anyone who has witnessed the modern corruption of our criminal justice system knows that it has been rendered less of a means by which society rids itself of predators, and more instead, of a game."

Senator’s public statement that he is guilty can and probably WILL be used by KSM’s attorney as proof KSM can never get a fair trial in America and charges should be dropped....

That didn't work out so well for the Haditha Marines. John al-Murthawi said they "killed innocent civilians in cold blood" looooong before an investigation was done and months before they were actually charged with any crime.

A “Not Guilty” verdict, or, worse, a dropping-of-charges, could very well bring down the whole Government... (Next to which, the fate of one terrorist is small potatoes...)

The national backlash against Liberals will be horrific - perhaps even bloody....

under what Constitutional Authority does Nobama or the Justice Dept. claim ...

We no longer have a functioning Constitution since the usurper has been permitted to ascend to the highest postion in the land all the while thumbing his nose at said Constitution and the American people.

My guess is; the case will be thrown out because he was not read his Miranda Rights. He was subjected to unnecessary duress. He was not allowed a lawyer. He was held captive for sooooooo long without a trial. Court will free him and require the Government (taxpayers) to pay him millions in restitution. He will be given a rent free apt. in NEW York and 73 virgins to play with. That being 1 more than the Koran promises.

He’ll be found guilty. Even Eric Holder and the NY judges know that they’ve got to produce a guilty verdict no matter what. Which is precisely why this is such a sham. They pretend that they are giving him a fair trial, yet they’ve already decided that he’s guilty, and that it’s just a matter of going thru “due process” to convict him.

Murtha is a pig. I have a son in the Marines.

The Haditha trial was a military trial; KSM is getting a civilian trial. His attorney(s) will undoubtedly use these film clips as proof he can’t get a “fair trial” anywhere in America.

He should have to run the gauntlet from the Empire State Building to Ground Zero. If he makes it to ground Zero alive, he goes free.

Let’s not forget this is NOT about a fair trial for KSM; it is all about politics.

Obama knows it will be years before this trial is concluded. He can point to the trial as evidence this should have been done from the gitgo. Whatever goes wrong he blames Bush for.

When they are acquitted, no other country wants them so they get to stay here.

The confessions will be inadmissable. The rest of the prosecution is a highly complex circumstantial case that will take months to present- I’ve been on juries, they will see reasonable doubt and will do what they see as their duty.

I see this EXACTLY the way you do.

We're being assured these animals will be found guilty. Really? Then what's the point of a trial? Is Obama” jumping to conclusions”?

Execute them in Cuba.

There are too many technicalities that can go wrong. I won't be surprised at all if they walk.

“Obama will blame it on Bush.”

That would not work in this situation. In fact, that might be the final straw for Obama. You can bet the fix is in on this trial. They know exactly how it will turn out. It may be the first time in history that the liberals will be in favor of bringing an Islamic terrorist to justice. They know that if they fail, they are toast.

Seriously, the plan is that Justice will file more (less serious, but as yet unfiled) charges, and re-arrest him in the courtroom just after the verdict is read.

Of course this would be a publicity disaster and Moos worldwide would charge persecution (valid) of an innocent (invalid) Muslim.

The Islamic concept that A Moo cannot commit a crime against a Dhimi would be given credibility.

Repeated hanged juries would be nearly as bad, as repeated trials would also smack of persecution.

A Military Tribunal and quick ignominious execution would establish that dishonorable murdering cowards will always die like the subhuman swine they are, at the hands of honorable men.

However, Zer0 will always move politically to subjugate the justice system and the military to his personal whim and directive (like every tyrannical dictator) regardless of the risk to the citizens and Republic.

That is how Bill Ayers walked.

Yep! From his own mouth...

"Guilty as hell, free as a bird—it’s a great country."

I wish Beck or Rush would do something on the Center for Constitutional rights. Who funds it, who are the head guys, where do they have their offices, what is the history of the people in this organization?

This is probably a really naive question from out of the movies, but could he get a little chip implanted somewhere, so that when he goes free after the trial we can track him? That way when he meets up with his buddies, we can go get them all?

I grant you, the current administration would likely not want to do that to a poor Gtmo survivor, but is that technically possible?
