Some critics say a civilian trial -- instead of a military tribunal -- for self-proclaimed Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his accomplices could end up targeting the Bush administration and its anti-terror policies.
The Obama administration, in deciding to try alleged Sept. 11 conspirators in a New York courtroom, has said it is setting its sights on convictions, but some critics say a civilian trial -- instead of a military tribunal -- could end up targeting the Bush administration and its anti-terror policies.
One of those five defendants, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, has been at the center of the debate over those Bush-era polices, in particular the harsh interrogation techniques used on Mohammed and others in an effort to obtain information on Al Qaeda and any additional attacks.

Hey, I live in NY, worked against the shmuck here and sure as heck didn’t vote for him.
I realize it seems we few and far between but there are solid conservatives in NY. There is no call for treating us like we deserve it. At all.
How about we meet in the middle and say a 10 minute monologue on how the trial on how the trial on Bush affects him.

There will be an election, even if he stays forever- an election every 4 years.Iran does it. The USSR did it. ACORN does it.
We need to start a pool on the date that the first subpoena is served to George Bush at his home in Dallas. And these liberal asshole judges will probably compel him to testify.
It will either backfire or it will seal the deal for him. Soros thinks Hussein will win it all with this one, I’m sure, or it would not have been planned this way.
It will surely be required for a Mohammedan or two to be on the jury , his peers, you know.

The Left, from the National (Communist) Lawyers' Guild to the ACLU and MoveOn.org, has been trying to get Bush and Cheney "on trial" any way they can for years -- just like the Left targeted Joe McCarthy in the 50's and was not satisfied with his death, but continued to work him over 40 years dead, vilifying and blackguarding him no end.
It's a natural expression of the black pus that fills and animates these people.
And here I thought he was more an Alinskyite Stalinist.
Maybe he's mutable and omnivalent: Whatever works to destroy America, Obama is willing to be, to become, to impersonate.
Well that will NOT happen.
He is being tried as a terrorist that planned 9-11.
Anything that happened AFTER 9-11 is NOT relevent.
Nope. The People will never hear any good news about the Bush Administration. The media 'Rats have sworn it on an altar of Moloch.
Only some? Good grief. Anyone with half a brain would know this will be ALL about Bush, with the slaughter of 3,000 people being an unimportant side note.
Hate to say it, but the prosecution might as well give up and walk away now. Because there is no way in hell Obama, the ACLU, and other libs will allow KSM to be found guilty. He is going to be declared innocent, set free, and paid reparations to boot.
