BEIJING (Reuters) - A Chinese government spokesman said Barack Obama should be especially sympathetic to China's opposition to the Dalai Lama and Tibetan independence, as a black president who lauded Abraham Lincoln for helping abolish slavery.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang made the comments at a news conference on Thursday, four days before Obama arrives in China for a summit that will cover the two big powers' vast and sometimes tense economic, diplomatic and security ties.

The list, ping
Didn’t Obama refuse to meet with him when he was here? If so, was that according to China’s “wishes”?
...as China yanks the money chain around Barry’s neck...
*1.2 million Tibetans died as a direct result of Chinese atrocities.
*Over 6000 monasteries and institutes of learning have been destroyed.
*Precious Tibetan artifacts were vandalized and sold in Hong Kong markets.
*Over 6000 Tibetan religious and historical literature have been destroyed.
*Tibetans in Tibet are second class citizen without basic Human Rights, such as Freedom of Expression, Freedom of Religion, Right to Education, etc.
*Tibetan women are subjected to forced abortion and sterilization.
*Tibetan Children are denied their right to education.
*70% of Tibetans living in Tibet now are illiterate.
*Arbitrary arrests, torture, intimidation and imprisonment without trial are the order of the day for Tibetans in their country.
*Tibet has been divided into different parts and incorporated with Chinese provinces, thereby removing the existing Tibetan identity.
*Thousands of Tibetans are still in prisons in China. Tibets natural resources and fragile ecology are irreversibly destroyed.
*6 Million Tibetans have been outnumbered by 7.5 Million Chinese inducted into Tibet causing demographic disadvantage to Tibetans in their own country.
If our state department had any sense, they’d be working - as far as could reasonably be done without starting a war - to break China into tiny little pieces. It’s just waiting for this to be done, the monolithic image China projects to the world is a laughable facade.
I think Obamas references to Lincoln (his travel to DS by his route, etc.) mean more than people realize. It’s not just “Lincoln freed the slaves, and now a black man is president”.
Consider this: Lincoln held together the union. That is, he would not allow states to secede.
So if and when Obama is faced with threats of secession (let’s face it, anything is possible nowadays) he will once again cite Lincoln as his guiding factor.
And the propaganda seeds will already be in place.
I saw a “free Tibet” bumper sticker today on an obvious lib’s car.
I was thinking - what do they want to free them from? Oppression by a communist government?
And what do they want to subject US to? Same thing.
I'd be willing to bet that he is...
Knowing how clever Obama believes himself to be, he'll probably appropriate the flawed analogy (though without actually grasping the self-evident flaws) but repurpose it - instead of using it in the context of Tibet (which is pretty far off of his Muslim-faith-inspired, er, I mean, "Christian-faith-inspired" radar), watch for him to use the Lincoln reference when he justifies throwing Israel under the bus...
“Oath keepers” didn’t exist when Lincoln was president.
And, I hope, secessionists will be smarter this time and just use the “ignore them” strategy until THEY try to come and enforce their will on the state.
(No Ft Sumpter excuse)
At least China has nothing to worry about from Obama. Ogabe will submit to their demands, demean America, get no concessions in return, and grant them every wish they have. He will probably sell military technology to them to finance his 2012 re-election campaign. Obama wants the Chinese to run the World, and to trash America as fast as he can. His wish is to destroy America, which he thinks is the worst country to have ever existed.
I'm not sure the Dalai Lama is the answer.
Ahmedabad, January 18: Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama calls himself a Marxist monk, because Marxism is more ethical, unlike capitalism. At a gathering at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A), he said: I am a Marxist monk, a Buddhist Marxist. I belong to the Marxist camp, because unlike capitalism, Marxism is more ethical. Marxism, as an ideology, takes care of the welfare of its employees and believes in distribution of wealth among the people of the state.
Delivering a lecture on Ethics and Business, the Tibetan leader-in-exile said the global economy has created vast economic differences in every country of the world. In the absence of ethical handling of money, the whole community suffer from a sense of insecurity. Exploitation of workers is maximum in developing countries. There are very high degrees of exploitation in India and China, similar to the exploitation during industrialisation of Western countries a century ago, he said.
When our traditional enemies speak publicly to the ‘bama, I always think of the scene in Monty Python’s ‘Search for the Holy Grail’, where the Frenchman in the castle is talking to King Arthur and all of his buddies, hidden from Arthur’s view, are giggling hysterically. In Beijing, Tehran, Moscow and Havana, the leaders must be shaking their heads and not believing their good fortune on the election of the rube in the White House who is so clueless that dialog with him becomes a running joke.
Barry is being schooled before the event.
