Dede's Revenge: 'We're Going to Work Against' Palin and Others

November 10, 2009 10:50 AM

Klein_3ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: Just when you thought you wouldn't have to spell "Dede Scozzafava" anymore, the Republican nominee in that upstate New York special election is back -- lashing out at Sarah Palin and others who worked against her bid.

In a revealing interview with The Washington Post, Scozzafava, a member of the New York State Assembly who lost her leadership post in the wake of her election loss, talks about what it's like to see her name turned into a verb (Gov. Charlie Crist, R-Fla., is the next candidate in danger of getting "Scozzafaved.")

She attacks Palin, R-Alaska, for endorsing the Conservative Party candidate, Doug Hoffman, even though Hoffman doesn't even live in New York's 23rd congressional district.

"How can Sarah Palin come out and endorse someone who can't answer some basic questions," Scozzafava tells the Post. "Do these people even know who they are endorsing?"

Sarah Palin “worked against” her just by endorsing someone else? LOL. Whatever. You can say one thing for Dede, she sure knows what name to drop to get a little media attention!

Who is “we”? Does she mean the entire 5% (4.98% democrats) that voted for her???

Delusions of grandeur?
Like Oboma - he still thinks people voted for him because he's "qualified"!

I’ve met a number of people who view parties as tribal or something. They don’t have to adhere to any principles of the party. In fact they rarely know what those principles are but they were born Democrats or Republicans and they intend to stay that way forever... It’s like a party is their home team or something. I don’t fully understand it but it sounds like Dede’s one of these confused home-team tribalists who felt she deserves to be a Republican because she always was and worked really hard for the party (without ever really understanding it’s principles). Now she’s acting hurt and betrayed and I expect she still doesn’t even get it.

The RNC gave this person $900,000 ?

Dear RNC,

Don't call, Don't come to my door, Don't mail, Don't email me asking for money.

You have backed this idiot and too many other RINOs to expect me to finance your follies.

Signed,

A Conservative

I suspect she has a decent grasp of party principles and that the only reason she joined the GOP is that she knew a RAT would have trouble getting elected in her district.

All the hoohah about Owens showing that conservatism cant cut it cracks me up. No one seems to notice that he did not get a majority of the vote, just a plurality (49%) due to a three-way race. When he has a purely two person race (as is likely in Nov 2010), he could easily lose.

It’s also convenience. If she lived in a died-in-the-wool dem district she would’ve run as a dem. Unlike Sarahcuda, Dede is part of that professional politician class.

Because Republican doesn’t always mean Conservative.

Actually, in most cases, it doesn’t anymore.

:-(

"There is a lot of us who consider ourselves Republicans, of the Party of Lincoln," she said. "If they don't want us with them, we're going to work against them."

She needs to leave the party ASAP.

First of all, who is “we?” Palin is already hated by the RINOs and leftist moonbats. Dede is not going to convince Palin’s conservative supporters otherwise.

This is not about Dede Scuzzyfanny...

This is about the Republican Party that allows these people in, and then endorses them!

This is about the formerly conservative Republicans we all call RINOs. If they do not start clearing the ranks and making republican stand for something, I will vote Libertarian.

I would rather see a Democrat in office than the most destructive force in our country, a RINO.

Republicans that do not stand up for our Constitution are far more damaging than Democrats who openly defile our constitution. You know where you stand with a Democrat.

You never know what you will get with a Republican. Look at the Congressman from Louisiana who voted for Obamacare!

We need a two party system, not the one party we have now.

“Because Republican doesn’t always mean Conservative.”

#####

Yes, I know. But usually there is at least a tinge of conservatism.

But in this case, the Republicans just seemed to throw out whatever warm body they thought could get elected, absolutely regardless of policy positions.

Disgusting.

This woman is dumb, dumb, dumb. If she had just zipped her mouth after she dropped out of the race, instead of endorsing the Democrat, she’d still be leader of the State Assembly.

Now she has killed her career in either party.

In the other congressional race this year, DemoRat John Garamendi was not a resident of the 10th district in which he ran and won.

Could be. I don't know her personally or the history of the very large district. I just know there's a lot of people who don't think any deeper about party than "good guys" versus "bad guys". And then there's people who could care less about being in a party and just want a cushy political job so they rent themselves out to the highest bidder.
