MSNBC and Bloomberg are reporting that the Obama administration is denying reports by CBS News and the AP that Obama has decided to send nearly 40,000 reinforcements to Afghanistan.
Both outlets report that Obama has not received final recommendations from his advisers and he would then need time to review them.
Bloomberg cited an e-mailed statement by National Security Adviser Jim Jones that flatly denied a decision had been made by Obama.
Afghan theater Gen. Stanley McChrystal requested 40,000 to 80,000 troops in August saying the war could be lost in twelve months if his request is not met. Three months later Obama has yet to decide on that urgent request.

Both senior administration officials insisted Obama has not made any decision on troop levels in Afghanistan, noting the President has another meeting with his national security team on Wednesday to receive a final set of recommendations from the Pentagon brass. The senior officials said the president could not possibly make a decision on troop levels before even receiving the Pentagons final recommendations.

......”to receive a final set of recommendations from the Pentagon brass. .....”
How many ways do you say, “WE NEED MORE TROOPS!!!” ?
What is this punk going to do? Send a dead fish to a Marine brigade? I'd like to see him try.
Israeli prime minister calls Rahm Emanuel a self-hating Jew
Parachute punk Emanuel into the middle of Saudi Arabia during the hajj, and then have him come to talk to us.
Rahm Emanuel Enraged
Good.
Maybe something will burst.
Rahm should shut up and go away to a communist country where he will be happy
Hey! You left out (*#^*^&%$#@ (*%$#@#$* (*&^%$#@^&**(>.
IMHO
hmm, Maybe the plan is to give the illusion to his uber Leftist base that he is standing up to the military on the troop number...first nuber out was just below forty K....so I’m guessin we’ll be lucky to reinforce twenty-five K.
I guess that will make him look like an anti military hero to his Leftist base over at Kos and DUmmyland.
You mean the one in the dress and wig? No, that's Rahm
I read that Hitler used to literally chew the carpet in his rages - I wonder if Rahm does? Or is that part still coming?
... or in the administration
Rahm was getting all wee-weed up because the Pentagon was acting stupidly.
Knowing how Commies work - they elevate empty symbolism above substance nearly every time - I'd expect Dear Leader to make a tie-in between his Afghanistan decision, whatever it is, and Veterans Day. He's got the one-two punch of the Ft. Hood visit today followed by the meeting/briefing with his national security advisors on Wed/Veterans Day, and it would be surprising if he didn't use at least one of those scripted photo-op occasions to give a shout-out to the Nobel Peace Prize committee and his buddies in the OIC, while simultaneouisly sticking it to his enemies (namely the United States and its allies, of course)...
Who’s playing who, here? I had the same impresseion as the two of you. My bet is folks in the Pentagon are playing obama, trying to force his hand. It was leaked earlier that McChrystal would resign if he didn’t get sufficient troops. In October, he gave a speech on Afghanistan that criticized Biden’s approach, calling it Chaos-istan. The next day he finally got a meeting with obama on Air Force One.
Not sure if it’s the Pentagon, but maybe it’s McChrystal and his allies that are pushing these “rumors”. If so, wow, They are playing some high-stakes poker. If Rahm is truly “enraged”, it means he’s off his game. Rahm is always strategizing. If the Pentagon also leaked about Rahm’s reaction, well, lolol, Rahm is losing this PR game.
Dithering Heights
ANYTHING that ENRAGES the Ballet Dancer Thug........
Gen. McChrystal has already given his recommendation. In fact, he gave it months ago.
Since when has a president been so adamant to make clear that he is unable to commit to a decision??
The Welcome Back Carter graphic needs to use a photo of the young Hussein with his afro in full bloom, and the rounded sunglasses and a cigarette dangling from his lips.
So, the first question we have to ask with any development such as this is:
Is it a real situation and a real reaction
or is this part of Obammie the Commie’s scheme?
Rahm Enraged? Good. I’d like to see a photo of him in action...the real Rahm. Let the public know what kind of people are holding high office.
Why does he only get enraged at Americans?
I don’t buy the whole Rham “enraged” spin. This was a trial balloon all along. The first report of a tropp build-up was from CBS News for cryin’ out loud. They send up a trial balloon and then shoot it down and wait for the reaction.
Watch how the left reacts today to see what Obama will do.
