MSNBC and Bloomberg are reporting that the Obama administration is denying reports by CBS News and the AP that Obama has decided to send nearly 40,000 reinforcements to Afghanistan.
Both outlets report that Obama has not received final recommendations from his advisers and he would then need time to review them.
Bloomberg cited an e-mailed statement by National Security Adviser Jim Jones that flatly denied a decision had been made by Obama.
Afghan theater Gen. Stanley McChrystal requested 40,000 to 80,000 troops in August saying the war could be lost in twelve months if his request is not met. Three months later Obama has yet to decide on that urgent request.

Both senior administration officials insisted Obama has not made any decision on troop levels in Afghanistan, noting the President has another meeting with his national security team on Wednesday to receive a final set of recommendations from the Pentagon brass. The senior officials said the president could not possibly make a decision on troop levels before even receiving the Pentagons final recommendations.
The leaks in question enraged White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, who had discussions today with Pentagon officials about the reports.>

The White House would rather attack the Pentagon. It is a lot easier than actually making a decision that they might be held accountable for concerning a current war where we have troops that are in jeopardy.
Every time I read something like this I recall Hillary stating the fact that BO only voted present in the debate. No one was obviously paying attention because the Kool Aid drinkers voted him in, and now wonder at his decision making process.
A DITHER, A DATHER ... TELL ME ABOUT YOUR (OBAMA) FATHER!
During the Bush years, leaks were running like a water from a fire hose..... according to libturds & the media, that was good & right & proper and protected as freedom of speech.
However during the 0bozo reign of terror..... leaks are BAD, BAD, BAD for the country but especially bad because they are happening to 0bozo, and therefore not protected as freedom of speech, and Rahm Emanuel is "enraged".
Geez I hate these libturd demoRAT bastards
“40,000 to 80,000” troops?
When did the number go to 80,000?
I have only heard the 40,000 figure from McChrystal’s request.
As he dithers the numbers will go up....cause the Taliban will have grabbed more territory.
What a circle jerk these clowns perform....
Gee, if Rahm is mad.............then someone is right. LOL!
He is playing with Americans ... their lives. And he doesn’t care one iota.
If Rahm is mad, it is a good day.
Made Rahm soil his tutu, he was so angry.
Rahm ?
Discussions ? LOL
Four days after suffering tragedy on American soil, by a jihadist enabled by political correctness, in addition to a surge in military casualties in Afghanistan facilitated by restricted rules of engagement and Hussein's deliberate dithering, the Pentagon may have had enough.
The amount of leaks that are getting to the press about the Ft. Hood shooting would indicate the military and other agencies have had enough and want the public to learn what really happened. Not some administration approved PTSD BS.
You’re good Kristinn.
I hope you're right. I wonder what else they might know and start leaking to the public . . . I have to believe there's a lot more known about the big Zero than has been disclosed . . .
Kinda sucks to have bureaucrats leaking from underneath, doesn’t it? lol!
I think we are now starting to see a push-back with Zero, he’s making enemies right and left.
Has the diagnostic criteria for PTSD been changed? Did Hussein redefine it himself?
