The health care bill in the House, H.R. 3962, is in desperate need of votes, and pro-life congressmen are sitting on their hands demanding the legislation have stringent pro-life language which would keep federal money from funding abortions. Similar to the Hyde Amendment, which bars tax-payer money from funding abortions under the Department of Health and Human Services programs, the Stupak-Pitts amendment would accomplish the same under H.R. 3962

Ahh, the ever personable MNJohnnie. At least you’re not shy.

Thanks a lot. Typical politician taking all sides of an issue.

I wonder how many will want to walk the plank on this at the end of the day on the word of a guy who’s not even going to be there to vote.

What, you think I voted for the Big O?

I was one of those arguing why we needed to hold our nose and vote for McCain. You’ve got me pegged all wrong.

RATS will vote against federal funding for abortion before they vote for it.

Let one of them come back to their district and claim that they voted to block federal funding for abortion. If they vote for the Pelosi-care bill, they will be voting to use tax dollars to pay for abortion on demand.

They hate babies and want to kill them. Abortion is not “health care”!

YES!

Make Stupak and the pro-life Dems take the poison pill. Time for the Republicans to play chicken by voting “present” or against the amendment to strip out abortion funding.
The Catholic bishops are trying to make nice with the pro-life Dems while taking their natural allies the Republicans for granted.

“I think I heard the GOP leadership saying they would be voting for this ammendment.”

That’s good. They can vote FOR the Stupak amendment, and STILL vote against the Pelosi bill.

I called my rep and said to vote FOR the Stupak amendment, but I am against the entire bill. At least -IF- Pelosicare gets passed, maybe we can save some unborn children.

And while both “major” parties play political games with words, tens of thousands more American young people were tortured to death in the child-killing centers.

Their sworn oath? “To secure the blessings of liberty to posterity.”

Their goal? To secure the perks of office to themselves and their cronies.

So quit blaming the GOP. This is what "Conservatives" works so hard for 4 years to achieve. Perfect political irrelevance.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. Anyone who did not vote for McCain is partly responsible. Anyone who did not vote a straight Republican ticket is also partly responsible for this.

Don’t kid yourself. This pro-life language will never survive a conference committee. Here today, gone tomorrow.

Quit offering up rotten maggot-infested meat and maybe folks will want to eat it.

I am absolutely right and you know it. I have one question for you: Would you be willing to trade Franken for Coleman right about now?

The ONLY way to save it is to vote a straight Republican ticket and try to get 60 Republican senators and a Republican president.

“This pro-life language will never survive a conference committee. Here today, gone tomorrow.”

Did you at least call your congressperson and ask them to vote no for the entire bill?

Well, I am blessed. Steve King is my congressman and he’s one leading the charge against this monstrosity but I did call Boswell, even if he isn’t in my district.

Good - keep fighting until we hear that the bill has been hopefully defeated, and pray.

Steve King even missed his son’s wedding to stay in DC for this.

That NY 23 was one big screw-up from the beginning. Starting with those who put the eleven county chairs in place. It sounds as if there was nothing good about the whole thing.
