On MSNBC, I heard General McCafferty state that he didn't believe that it was a terrorist attack, and that instead, he believes it was a criminal enterprise.
Can you believe it?

I’ve got news for him, when it involves this number of people, it is a terrorist attack. This is a message sending event. It wasn’t an event that sought to pay back one person or even a small group of people.
Nearly 30 victims, leaves no doubt this was intended to make a statement.

The first thought of a DOD friend of mine in Texas, whose father is a retired colonel, was that this was a robbery or drug deal gone bad. He grew up in the Fort Hood area after his father's retirement, so I presume his initial opinion was based on local knowledge.
I told him that 2+ shooters and 20+ casualties were reported, whereupon he changed his opinion to terrorism by local jihadis, and said that the federale Cone of Silence would come down immediately if they suspect terrorism.

If I was a drug dealer, a fenced and guarded military base would NOT be my first choice to engage in a fire-fight. If a mass shooting happened in a bar or pizza place just off the base, THEN I might think it was gang related.

(Public healthcare looks like it will work as well as public housing did.)

, and that instead, he believes it was a criminal enterprise. Can you believe it?There is reason to believe that is a very possible scenario. There are rumors that Ft. Hood was rife with corruption, from the command structure on down.
Tomorrow's headline may read "PX robbery gone bad".

I remember Col. Hunt was saying the exact same thing on Fox during the DC Sniper killings. He was dead wrong.
