That’s a brilliant strategy. *eyeroll* That’s what got us Obama and the country in the mess it is in now.

Could have sworn is was the GOP running yet another moderate in a 20 year string of moderates, who would throw away this country's sovereignty and open our borders, and who follows an utter disappointment of a moderate who had 8 years and a moderate Republican Congress for part of that time and who pissed it away.

The 2010 elections will be held under the current lines (new lines would first be used in 2012).

And if the NY-23 is the district that is “eliminated” for 2012, all that would mean is that the current district would be split among several districts, and Hoffman could choose one of them and run there.

I heard that district would be removed anyway next year as the census will make redistricting of the area automatic and it will go.

True the census will provide for redistricting in all fifty states but that won’t happen next year. It will come into play for the 2012 congressional elections.

So next year the same boundary lines will apply. NY has it’s primary on Sept. 10, 2010 so there will be a chance for the GOP voters in NY23 to select a candidate that isn’t picked by the county chairs.

Unlike some politicians, Sarah didn’t throw Doug under the bus.

Classy :)

No.
RINO’s like Juan McCain and Lindsay Graham, and the profligate ways of the Republicans when they controlled congress, are what got us 0bummer in the first place.
Of course McCain voting for that stupid bailout in 2008 helped seal his fate as well.
Nobody owes any politician anything. To get my vote, you gotta earn it. You don't earn it by sending $900,00 of RNC money to ACORN backing card check backing, gay marriage backing scum liks Scozzafava.

I can go along with the “lesser of two evils” approach, but here, in this NY 23 district for example, you cannot make a choice between the “lesser of two Equals”.

Well, at least the democrat victor was more conservative that the “faux” republican “Scoffula”.

Bull Shirt! The Democrat is an Obama and SEIU endorsed, pro Obamacare, big government loving liberal.

Conservatives need to re-take the party. The only way to do this is in the primaries and caucuses. NY-23 was a special case because the rinos picked a candidate without a primary.

Precisely! Many decisions are made by local and State Republican organizations. Conservatives need to start being a larger part of them.
