just remember, we the unwashed aren’t privy to exit polls. We may hear discouraging news and decide not to vote. We are so susceptible to such mind control.
Intrade is tanking for Christie.
Let’s hope he pulls it off.
No numbers...just said “it’s close”
As of 1430 PST, Intrade has Corzine at 50.1%.
Here's my prediction: After the count, Christie 52%, Corzine 40%, Daggett 8%. Corzine appeals to the NJ Supreme Court on the grounds that the Democrat lost the election, therefore something was wrong with the vote counting.
The NJ Supreme Court concurs and orders a recount (remember, this is the same court which allowed Lautenberg to switch for Torecelli at the last minute).
After the recount, it is Christie 52%, Corzine 57%, Daggett 8%. Corzine wins!
Who’s tanking?
Tanking “for Christie”... does that mean Christie’s tanking or that it’s tanking “for him” ie in his behalf???
Where in NJ? Where is this being reported?
(PS: love your tag line)
marked for later reading
Are you saying they are stacks of blank ballots accessible to the voters walking in the door such that they can grab one or more extras? We don’t have that here. The ballots are controlled by the poll workers. Or are you saying the poll worker gives the crooked “voter” an extra ballot? There has to be an extra ballot each time or there’s no advancement of the numbers. You’d also have to have a complicit poll worker or two, which wouldn’t be hard to do, but that’s not what you described. If there are stacks of fresh ballots sitting around, anybody could go to court and shut that down in minutes because no jurisdiction would not have rules that control that strictly and carefully.
So what you’re describing doesn’t seem to make sense in terms of increasing the numbers for the cheaters. I think the absentee ballot/mystery registrant is the major means by which they cheat.
Your post raises an interesting hypothetical point. We talk about being above the margin of fraud so that no recount could ever reverse the election.
The NJSC could, I suppose, find that the election was so bad—some wino testifies he was too drunk to find the polling place, for instance— they just throw the whole thing out and call a do-over for some distant date in the future. In the meantime, Corzine remains in power according to the NJ Constitution (as the NJSC interprets it “for the good of the public”)
Intrade says Christie is tanking/losing. They’re saying Corzine is just over 50%.
Actually, that’s a little better. A couple hours ago Corzine was at 54%.
I heard the county names when the story broke but I’ve forgotten them now.
One was in a Dem stronghold county and one was in a Pubbie leaning county
It’s 6:00 on the East coast. We should be getting some raw exit poll data anytime now.
How does Intrade know? Isn’t it essentially the same as handicapping a horse race or a prize fight? It’s based on how much money is put down on a candidate? How is that a scientific poll?
Not ragging on you, just curious how it works.
Several lib websites have been talking about the VERY low Black Voter Turnout.
IT’S WELFARE CHECK DAY...
They are too busy Doing “other” things, to be bothered with voting....
Just voted in the Chantilly/Herndon VA area. My precinct is distinctly BLUE in political makeup.
Turnout looked about right from the number of my ballot, less voters than last year and 2004, about the same as 2005, 2006 (Congressionals) and more than the other years.
BIG difference was in the number of GOP sample ballots both in the hands of people in the polling station and in the big trash can on the way out the door. Just about everyone had a GOP sample ballot, and the trash can was pretty much 2/3rds filled with GOP sample ballots, without a single Dem sample ballot in sight.
55 now for Corzine on Intrade.
NRO Jonah Goldberg - In other news - reports that a bear attacked and killed two of three terrorists that entered his cave in the disputed Kashmir region of India. A lesson for us all... Just a break from the election news.
