Palin Punches, Hooks Right, Dede Goes Down
The Politicizer ^ | November 1, 2009 | Conor J. Rogers

Posted on 11/02/2009 10:03:19 AM PST by FMoran

Many in the punditry, and especially the mainstream media, have been pushing polls that showed Palin’s favorability ratings dropping and suggesting her star may be fading. In a move that only Sarah Palin could pull off – endorsing a candidate outside her own party, and taking out the establishment candidate – she proved why she’s still around, and reminds us how she got here.

In their relative shock following Palin’s endorsement, the national media seems to forget how Mrs. Palin became Governor of Alaska in the first place: not by defeating Democrats, but by systematically tearing down the Last Frontier’s Republican establishment. Though knocking off Republicans by other Republicans is something new for national politics, Dede Scozzafava now joins half a dozen Alaskan Republicans in Sarah Palin’s trophy case.

Great article...
My favorite line:
"Dede Scozzafava now joins half a dozen Alaskan Republicans in Sarah Palin’s trophy case."

I think she can add Newties "scalp" to her wall as well.

Clearly you had no problem with your messiah (OBOZO) quitting the Senate after 143 days to run for President.

Facts are stubborn things. Bambi never quit the Sentate to run for President. He resigned after he won the election.

It would have been really cool if you included Hoffman’s name in the excerpt just in case anyone forgets that he’s the reason Scozzafava is out of the race.

Was the Zero actually in the Senate? (Dole, by the way, had the guts to resign when running for the president.)

(I don’t remember many votes that he cast up there - other than the time HE stood up and interrupted Bush’s State of the UNion address ....

The Lamestream Media types will never get it. The more you try to slime Palin unfairly, the more we’ll stand by her.

It’s one thing to idolize you’re political messiah, it’s another to take credit for other people’s hard work and success.

Sarah got to the Hoffman issue late (many others did it when there was political price to pay of they ended up wrong, Palin got on board when it looked like he could win), Armey and Thompson were behind Hoffman early, Club for Growth gave the man 350k, all Palin did was put a note on her Facebook page between book signings and speeches in Hong Kong, she didn’t give the man any money, she didn’t fly out and make a campaign appearance on his behalf, she didn’t do squat except spend a couple minutes writing a note on the internet

. . . and put her supporters - who are legion - on the case. She tipped the race for Hoffman, big time. She also did contribute the max from her PAC.

I will give Mr. & Mrs. Fred Thompson the props they are due, and others also, as you mention. But the salient point to consider is that as far as presidential timber is concerned, only Eisenhower-class generals and governors need apply. The senators who've been elected to the presidency can be counted on the fingers of one hand - Warren G. Harding (the only senator to defeat a governor in a presidential race), John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, and Barak Obama(I include Nixon because VP is not an executive position; indeed, only three sitting VPs have ever been elected to the presidency). None of those senators defeated a sitting president, tho some have certainly tried. The names Walter Mondale, Bob Dole, Al Gore, and John Kerry come instantly to mind . . .

Add to that the fact that nobody has ever been elected President without attaining national office within 14 years of attaining statewide office as governor or senator, and you have a very limited field of true presidential timber in the Republican Party - a field which unfortunately no longer includes Fred Thompson.

Of the remaining presidential timber, Sarah got in the NY 23 race fustest with the mostest, Tim Pawlenty comes in second after Palin's move had shown significant effect, Huckabee comes in third - and Romney is a no-show who well might come to think

For he to-day that sheds his blood with me

Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,

This day shall gentle his condition;

And gentlemen in England now-a-bed

Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,

And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks

That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

that he should have been in NY-23 last week.

She currently holds no office and is not in the GOP heirarchy anywhere. She's a private citizen. Why are there even polls about her? Or ratings? Methinks someone is scared of the lady!

Where will the blind Palin worship end? When she’s the 2012 nominee and we lose the WH for another 8 years because she got hammered everyday for being a quitter in Alaska?

Who do you want as the nominee? Another Mr. Milk Toast liberal who panders to Democrats? Sarah is conservative, period. She'll stick to conservative principles, no mattter what. NY-23 is a good example. I can see why she scares the libs. And is a breath of fresh air to conservatives who haven't had a candidate with our values for ... since Reagan. A lot of years.

The ‘professional politicians’ should be afrawidn of what Sarah Palin represents. She is a real person with real morals and real grace and love accompanied by tough as nails motherhood experience to call upon. The mothers of America are now waking up to the immoral, corrupt Democrats and go along to get along rinos. The mothers are pissed at what they’re seeing as the professional politicians mortgage into bankruptcy the future of these mothers’ children! So yes, the rinos and corrupt commie democrats should be afraid of Sarah. She has an army of Mothers and a growing gaggle of we older men joining the parade behind her as she marches toward ‘reform now’.

I will type slowly so even you can understand. Obama didn't leave, quit or resign from the Senate during his presidential bid. Neither did McCain. You can 'believe' anything you like, but again the fact is he didn't resign until after the election. Whether either of them was actually working as a Senator is irrelevant to the fact that your statement was incorrect.

You also pull this Obama messiah nonsense out of your pocket a great deal. For someone who has been around in forum as long as you have you haven't really learned much at all have you?

“Who do you want as the nominee”?

A smart politician. One who campaigns as a moderate and governs as a conservative.

Don’t like it? That’s how shit gets done.
