WASHINGTON (CNN) - More than seven in 10 Americans think Sarah Palin is not qualified to be president, according to a new national poll.
Seventy-one percent of those questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Wednesday morning believe the former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee is not qualified to be president, with 29 percent saying she does have the credentials to serve in the White House. Republicans appear split, with 52 percent saying she's qualified and 47 percent disagreeing with that view.
The poll indicates that about half of the country, 51 percent, has an unfavorable view of Palin, with 42 percent seeing her in a positive light. Nearly two-thirds of those questioned say Palin's not a typical politician, and feel she's a good role model for women. Fifty-six percent add that Palin cares about people, and a similar amount think she's honest and trustworthy. But the survey indicates Americans are split over whether Palin shares their values, agrees with them on the issues, or if she's a strong leader.

Well if the last-place media says it, it must be true.
Hell, 7 in 10 CNN viewers aren’t qualified to vote.
9 Out of 10 say CNN not qualified to run poll.
Here’s a question, how come CNN is doing a poll on her THREE YEARS BEFORE THE ELECTION. And as far as 7 out of 10 believing she is not qualified to be President, they must have been confused thinking they were being asked about Obama
She’s clearly more qualified than Obama and the country has rapidly soured on the big O.
maybe they should ask the poll this way.
Who is more qualified to be President.
a) a Governor
b) a Community Organizer
What outcome would you expect from the Communist News Network?
Well, that’s interesting. I didn’t know it was a question yet.
But we can go back to this. Please Please Please CNN, GO BACK TO THIS ISSUE!!
See before the election, the argument was that Palin wasn’t experienced enough to handle the Presidency. When the same argument was used against BO, we were told he ran one HELL OF A CAMPAIGN, therefore, qualified.
Hmmmm, go ahead. 2012 we can visit this issue again and see if the two answers will be the same.
They must have put Palin’s name in there when it should have been Obama - this explains the high proportion.
PALIN 2012!!!
They are scared to death of Sarah.
The attack machine has done a very good job. The obedient media, the relentless commenters on sites disparaging her....it’s amazing how well they can destroy someone.
But the public can be fickle...and frequently likes to defend an underdog. I’m hoping the majority will begin to realize they’ve been manipulated.
She presents a credible threat to the established (dis)order.
ROTFLOL
Yeah....it can’t get any worse. If she surrounds herself with the best and brightest she’ll (and we’ll) do just fine..... thank you very much
Yup.....all 10 of them voted. Waste of time.
Why aren’t they doing polls about Walter Mondale or Dan Quayle? Wasn’t Sarah supposed to be washed up and past her time? Wasn’t she supposed to have been unimportant?
And yet, after the President, she is the most talked (non-)politician in the media.
The reason why a former Governor is not qualified to be President, but a 1/3 term Senator is? The media says so.
This poll clearly shows there is work to be done by her, but it also shows that the press can’t find a way to not tell her story.
