The really strange thing here, and the article itself or others may have mentioned it, is that Newt actually picked the day that a poll was released that shows more people described themselves as Conservative, than by an other description. 40% of them picked Conservative, vs 20% picking liberal.
Still Newt claims that Conservatives are wrong to think they should lead the Republican Party.
Newt, bud, get a grip. If our party leaders, you included, would spend 1/10th as much time pushing Conservative ideals explaining them to the public, that you do backing liberal policies, that 40% would be 55%.
Get off your ass and help the rest of us retake this nation.

NY-23 also demonstrates that Republicans need Conservatives more than Conservatives need Republicans, in order to win elections. No Conservative should back a Democrat Lite, Daily Kos supported, ACORN funded candidate.

I can’t stand the mentality of following a party! Follow your views and to whomever that person is that believes as you do.
They should throw out the whole party system and vote for people (yeh, people of the Republic)
Then people will have to be informed on who they are actually voting for. Otherwise it’s an eenie meenie miney moe!
