Sister Monson refused to move from her home of over 40 years. Presidents usually move across the street from Church headquarters for convenience and safety. Most Presidents are in their 80’s or 90’s, work long hours and travel a lot, the local apartment helps conserve their strength.
We lived in the building for 3 years while we served in The Famiily History Library, it is nice but not posh, the Presidents apartment is about 2400 square feet. Former President Hinckley, before he was President, lived in a home he built personally years ago. We are taught to be a thrifty people.
