Disregard my post regarding Moses’ polygamy. I haven’t thought through my response carefully. It appears I don’t know what I’m talking about.

I’ll do some research and get back to you.

You have two obstacles to overcome with your argument. The first is PROVING that the Ethiopian woman is not Zipporah. Second is to proving that Zipporah was alive IF this was another woman. Since this woman is only named via an ethnic slur is it likely this is referring to Zipporah. Finally, this passage says nothing about God sanctioning polygamy anymore than God sanctioning theft and dishonesty - that is in the bible too.

If 'God' through Smith defined polygamy as an everlasting law necessary to attain the highest level - godhood. Why did this 'god' change his mind when the Federal government was enroute to Utah to totally disinfranchise lds inc.? Why was polygamy secretly practiced by Prophet Wilford Woodruff in violation of D & C for years after Manifesto 1?

So ???

Zipporah was Ethiopian and not a hebrew...

Mariam and Aaron were not around when Moses married her 40 years before...

So they objected to her religion and nationality...

But you...

Was it because she may have been black that you object to her ???

I think it is time to ask for sources of your ranting and raving. Did you live with Joseph and Emma, have you read their letter to each other?
I think you need to take a trip to Utah so you can see these demonic people for your self. You can tell the Mormons by their horns. A popular Christian myth of the late 1800’s.
The Saviour said: “An evil tree cannot produce good fruit.”
Most say,”Mormons are good people, but their religion is of the devil.” How can you have it both ways?

First of all, I don’t know why you keep posting to me when you are responding to other’s posts.

Second, I tried to get you to understand the purpose of these posts which you refuse to do.

Third, a myth from the 1800’s is not being discussed. No one here has ranted against mormons so much as they have against MORMONISM.

Fourth, you can have it both ways. If people are deluded into thinking they are following truth, it doesn’t make them evil, it makes them victims. Jim Jones comes to mind.

Fifth, what is the BIBLICAL scriptural reference to temple ceremonies performed in the lds temples?

Sixth, what is the BIBLICAL scriptural reference for men to be able to become gods and to rule over their own planets?

Seventh, what is the BIBLICAL scriptural reference or the astrological evidence of the planet Kolob?

Eigth, what is the BIBLICAL scriptural reference to men becoming polygamous in their kingdoms?

Ninth, why won’t any lds answer Elsie’s question about Presbyterianism and what Joe learned was “untrue” about it?

Tenth, I’m married to a mormon, so I don’t need to go to Utah to look for “demonic people”. (Not saying my wife is demonic at all.)

Finally, the sources posted are almost exclusively from the lds themselves. The contradictions between the lds and the Bible are the sources if you will.

Yes, you are “Nutz”. Who gives a crap if he’s a Mormon? How does that effect your life in any real way?

Is he right about all the crap in this country right now? ABSOLUTELY.

So he wears the magic underwear or whatever it is they do.

Why so much Mormon hate on FR?

“A co-worker asked me last year “how can someone as intelligent as you not be a ‘progressive’?” I refrained from responding “because I’m intelligent enough to not be one.”

The same reasoning may apply to your question.
(No, I’m not judging Mormonism either way, just commenting on the nature of such questions.)”

I remember our neighbors growing up saying to my parents: “I can’t believe you have such a wonderful family, but you don’t go to church.”

Same thing.

There is no doubt that polygamy is an ancient custom. So was slavery. It was my ancestors that decided that neither fit into their vision of what this new thing, this new Republic, should be. Polygamy was fairly common on the frontier but the focus of it was with the Latter Day Saints. It took some doing but the Mormons came around and have been exemplary. There were times that we just had to look the other way and not just with the Mormons. If you were a six-toed thumper from East Tennessee, you were allowed two wives so long as both were your sisters.

I’ve been to deepest, darkest Utah and I saw polygamy. Lots of it. Most of it was among the elderly. Women who had lost their husbands and were banded with other women in the same situation and tied to one man. It wasn’t marriage as we would think of it. There are some obstacles even double doses of Viagra and prayer won’t help. It was more of a spiritual union by old folks living out the remainder of their lives with like-minded folk in service to the Lord. Anywhere else it would be called a prayer circle. I have no objection to that and would, in fact, encourage it.
