Two months ago, the blog Jumping in Pools, which has been banned from FR for its chain-yanking postings of bogus news stories, posted a bogus story about Time magazine writer Joe Klein supposedly reporting on Barack Obama's writings at Columbia University about the Constitution.
Apparently without doing any research to see if Klein had actually written such an article, respected sites including American Thinker and Pajamas Media got all excited about the story and reported it today as if it were true.
They apparently hadn't noticed there was no source link at Jumping in Pools back to the supposed Joe Klein article. A search of the web produced no original source. A search of Time magazine for the term "Aristocracy Reborn", the supposed title of Obama's paper, returned this message: "Your search produced no results."
Yes, he did. But he corrected himself on show detailing that there was no source.
Adam and Jamie need to get on this right away! This is so plausible. Even if it’s a hoax, let’s press it more so they’ll have to release the official paper.
HERE IS OGUMBY HIMSELF ON THE FLAWS OF THE CONSTITUTION AND NEED FOR REDISTRIBUTIVE CHANGE. “CHANGE”. DOES THIS ALL SOUND FAMILIAR?

What amazes me is that so few seem to care that his life reads like something produced by a Hollywood script writer. I mean the one he “wrote”, Surely the press must know. “Everyone” knew that JFK did not actually write “Profiles in Courage.” Yet the all went along with the gag, because reporters know that so much of what they write is also made up.
Thank you.
BTW, there are nine trackers on that site. Correction, make that ten. They added another one.
But we do have Obama on tape talking about the constitution not going far enough in defining what the federal government must do on your behalf, especially in the area of economic justice and “redistributive” change. Says it can’t be done by the courts but the congress has the power to legislate redistributive economic change, ie, spread the wealth around.

Are these among the bloggers that the Obama White House is funding?
What's interesting is that it was plausible because.....
WE STILL DON'T KNOW JACK ABOUT OBAMA'S PAST
The Left is trotting out fabricated quotes for Rush and he is being dinged because he is not personally denying each and every one put in front of him every day.
So the “evidence” is left out there in the MSM for public consumption with the caveat that it is “unsubstantiated” (fake but accurate).
Whereas conservative sites and publications are being led down the primrose path by leftists who’ve again fabricated quotes and this time the the conservative sites and publications are taken to task for not employing due dilligence to verify the evidence before commenting on what is claimed to be a breaking news item with little grounded facts.
Two sets of rules folks. Two sets of rules.
If he had been more “transparent”, and we had been allowed to see his actual college thesis, the stunt wouldn’t have worked.
Now we’re left to wonder if the actual thesis is even worse than the phony one considering everything he has said and done since becoming POTUS.
It’s a version of the old problem “you can’t parody the National Inquirer” because it’s too hard to out-stupid it. Anything you can come up with is probably silly enough for them to actually print.
Right.
Ping..
My netsearching led to dead ends this a.m., when I first read at AT. A FR poster also mentioned that this site is mostly satirical on an earlier thread, this a.m.
It still doesn’t cease to amaze me that this pResident can seal all of his college “writings” and records, tho. Again, if Bush would have even thought about this, well, you all know what would have happened.
I know, two sets of rules and standards.
let me be perfectly clear that these satires I inherited from Bush and I will give my 76th major speech about this. Fox is not invited
The fascists are conducting psy-ops, to turn the mushy middle away from the truths surfacing about this affirmative action sob soiling the Oval Office. Look for them to try and pull a similar scam on Glenn Beck ... he, however, has a top rate research staff which Rush does not seem to need.
Well if you preface it with “some people are saying” it’s acceptable as news. Doesn’t really seem to matter to the MSM who “some people” are when a conservative is being slandered.
Thanks for checking into this because I was wondering about that article. I saw it this morning but before posting on FR I wanted to check the quote using a search engine. I too noticed that Jumping in Pools was the earliest and only source for the quote. So, I decided not to post it. I was wondering what he was using for a source.
Agreed, but the “everyone knew” defense doesn’t apply to conservatives. The fact that we don’t realize this is my gripe. We have to live under a different set of rules. That’s not new. And that’s not going to change. And it shouldn’t change!
I know, for example, that when a Rep is in office, he will be scrutinized. I also know that when a Dem is in office he will be lauded.
All I want is for “us” to be all over the Dem ‘cause the DemMedia won’t. But when we do, we need to be accurate and make it stick.
Breitbart, who actually stumbled into the Acorn thing, did the publicity of it just right. Every Rep should use Breitbart as a template. Improve on it, but never stray.
They can lie, we can’t. That’s the reality.
