Looking for evidence of Obama's past, Fox News contacted 400 Columbia University students from the period when Obama claims to have been there, but none remembered him.
Wayne Allyn Root was, like Obama, a political science major at Columbia who also graduated in 1983. In 2008, Root says of Obama, "I don't know a single person at Columbia that knew him, and they all know me.
I don't have a classmate who ever knew Barack Obama at Columbia. Ever! Nobody recalls him. I'm not exaggerating, I'm not kidding." Root adds that he was also, like Obama, "Class of '83 political science, pre-law" and says, "You don't get more exact or closer than that. Never met him in my life, don't know anyone who ever met him.
At the class reunion, our 20th reunion five years ago, who was asked to be the speaker of the class? Me.
No one ever heard of Barack! And five years ago, nobody even knew who he was. The guy who writes the class notes, who's kind of the, as we say in New York, the macha who knows everybody, has yet to find a person, a human who ever met him. Is that not strange?
It's very strange." Obama's photograph does not appear in the school's yearbook and Obama consistently declines requests to talk about his years at Columbia, provide school records, or provide the name of any former classmates or friends while at Columbia.

NOTE: Root graduated as Valedictorian from his high school, Thornton-Donovan School, then graduated from Columbia University in 1983 as a Political Science major (in the same class as President Barack Obama WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN IN)
According to this article, the department currently has about 350 undergraduate majors. That's spread over (at least) 3 classes, probably 3 1/2 would be a fairer estimate. So, about a 100 graduates per year, more or less.

This time, the post is chairman of the FCC, which has been in censorship overdrive ever since Janet-Jackson-boob-gate, and the nominee is Julius Genachowski, CC '85.
Genachowski not only overlapped with Obama's two years at Columbia, but also was his Harvard law school classmate, working under Obama at the Harvard Law Review. He has already served as General Consul Counsel to the FCC in the mid 90s, but is in fact best known for his technology experience, including "spearheading Obama's online campaign strategy, which used social networking and other tools to spread Obama's campaign message and raise record campaign contributions."
Did anyone check Colombia Missouri or Colombia SC?
How about Colombia TN, Colombia MD, Columbia NH, Columbia College in California? Etc, etc, etc!
What about Bogota Columbia...there must be a school there.
You people just aren't doing your homework.

Not that I seriously question the accuracy of that statement, but I recall seeing an article on that very same subject posted on FR here during last year's presidential campaign.
Seems as if all the evidence that has been mustered for supporting his possible attendance at Columbia is an article written by him on disarmament in the campus publication "The Sundial." There is also a photo of him posing with his grandparents that appears to have a NYC background, but that would only show that he was in NYC about that time; it bears no direct connection to Columbia. The same holds for a photo of Obama posing with his supposed Columbia roommate in what purportedly was his NYC apartment.
Is this the beginning of the Transcripter or Diplomar movement?
I dont know why people keep saying he didnt vet his czars. Nonsense. They are just the kind he wants.
_____________
Sure they are. He knows exactly who they are and what they stand for. The vetting issue is just to cover for him and place blame on others if people *out* the czars.
Bump Dat...
What year was your alumni directory published? That's important because he could have first appeared as Columbia alum at a much later date.
His transcript, of course, would answer a lot of questions, but he refuses to have it released - if indeed it does exist.

Obama and the case of the missing ‘thesis’

In 1983, as a senior at Columbia in New York, Barack Obama enrolled in an intense, eight-student honors seminar called American Foreign Policy. His former professor, Michael Baron

NOTE: Aside from all BHO’s radical ties, I find it interesting that this professor has ties to Zbigniew Brzezinski, who was teaching at Columbia & comments on BHO’s Columbia years.
After BHO graduates from Columbia he stays in NYC for an additional 2 yrs working for BIC & NYPRG (sp?-—both these companies have been reputed to have ties to CIA), as well as doing some community organizing (I think in Harlem).
I believe he was the Libertarian Party candidate for VP last year and authored a book about making millions. Do you doubt his credibility when he writes that nobody remembers Obama at Columbia?
But another former Oxy classmate, Robert McCrary, now general manager of a contract sewing company, saw him differently: “He definitely had a cocky, sometimes arrogant way about him. ... He was not open to others.”
He doesn't say that. He says no white people that he of knows remember Obama. He goes on to say that their are probably some black students who remember Obama at Colombia.
Interesting comment from a blogger -— The Postliberal is a 1972 graduate of Columbia College.—— on the matter of BHO’s letter to his Class of 1983’s 25th Reunion:
But style aside, the utterly banal content of Obama’s reunion letter sounds an errant note, at least to my ear. I find it hard to believe that the author of this letter ever wrote a memoir. Here is Barack Obama, a 1983 graduate of Columbia, gesturing toward a formative experience in his life, an experience that in some acknowledged measure he shared with his addressees, for whom it was also formative—yet he cannot mention one concrete personal detail that might render vivid his experience at Columbia and evoke the recollections of others who were there at the same time.
Obama mentions no professors or courses that influenced him. He mentions no books that challenged his thought. He offers no reminiscences of all-night conversations about Machiavelli, Marx, and girls from Barnard (or Marymount...). He doesn’t mention Alpha Phi Alpha or Omega Psi Phi, which as I recall were the African-American frats. No chess games in the Furnald lounge (and according to Dreams the young Obama was a chess player). No poker games in the John Jay basement.
(snip)
he can’t bother to recall one person he knew, one place he went, or one thing he did in two years spent at Columbia! If Joe Biden had been invited to address the Columbia reunion as a guest and had to decline, he could have sent virtually the same letter Obama did, and nothing would have seemed amiss.
The person who wrote Obama’s letter to the Columbia Class of ‘83 is not someone who thinks of his own life, or anybody’s else’s, as material for a memoir—not that I can see. This observation would apply to anyone who might have written the letter. And it would apply to Obama, who signed it, even if he did outsource the wording of the letter to a staffer.
If presidential candidate Obama was going to send a letter to his Columbia reunion at all, why not include some personal touch? For a Chicago pol, this would be a chance to lay on a double-grip handshake—and lay it, I might add, on a group possessed of some disposable income and lively interest in liberal politics.
But Obama passed up the golden opportunity to make that personal connection with his Columbia classmates. If this man was ever interested in personal memoirs, he must have suffered brain trauma and lost all awareness of it. He’s a case for Oliver Sacks.

Thank you. That’s what I was looking for.
Still alive...so far.
