As the offspring of an interracial marriage (47 years this past September) and currently in an interracial marriage (16 years this past June), I find it hard to believe this opinion still exists in the modern world.

(he just changed party affiliation recently which makes me and some other FReepers suspicious of the timing of this suddenly becoming news considering he says he has done this all his career.)

The US and South Africa are the only nations on earth that outright banned interracial unions. In the French. Spanish, Portuguese and Dutch colonies, interracial unions were common (and encouraged by the Spanish and Portuguese to assimilate the natives and free blacks).
